...I’m one of those consumers that every now and then gives into all sense of intelligent reasoning or well thought out analytical design and gets sucked in by high claims made by glossy adverts and go for the ‘must-have’ latest fashion gizmo! What is it this time you must be wondering?!…well, after hearing no ends of raving reviews in beauty magazines and press reports even in The Times magazine of a heated eyelash curler that promised a ‘curl to die for’ I just had to buy it. I mean if its good enough for supermodel Kate Moss it cant be all that bad. So, I went ahead and bought the Eyecurl Heated Eyelash curler for around £14.99 from the site MissGroovy. It’s also available at Lookfantastic at a similar price. I’m not sure if its available in High Street stores as I haven’t seen it myself personally.Though I think selected hair salons... Read review

There are many different curles with different shapes which come with this method. - The bulky ones are obviously not only heavy but also not very easy to carry around. They usually use bigger batteries as well. The 'Eyecurl' curler belongs to this category. - Other ones are smaller and pen shaped. These of course are lighter and can be taken everywhere as they are easy to store. In this market end I have seen Boots selling some for £20. Other makes like ModelCo offer the same at a higher price. After long search I found Shiki-Beauty. Shiki-Beauty offers it for only £9.99 and it also comes with an inbuild heat protection. This prevents the heated eyelash curler from over heating. Conclusion: For the price at £15.95 I would expect a better thought-through and developed product... Read review

It should be easier to create the natural curl when you apply the mascara first. If it doesn’t work then just repeat, hold the curler up for a little bit longer! Then I’ll apply the normal (black) mascara. The curl should stay for the whole day. ~ I found this heated eyelash curler a little bulky for my make-up bag. I have to try and fit everything in one bag when I go travelling. So recently I bought myself another slimmer heated eyelash curler (Shiki-Beauty) to replace the old one. It costs about GBP9.99 and its half the size of the old one coz it uses 1 AAA battery instead! It’s as easy to use the other one but you don’t have to wait so long for it to heat up... Read review
