...I recently tried out this Health and Beauty Salon in Swiss Cottage...except it's not actually in a salon. Upon arriving at Harmony for my massage, I quickly realised that it was set up in someone's home. At first I was a little uncomfortable and unsure about this but soon after arriving and meeting my therapist, and seeing that the house was spotless and looked quite professional, I felt quite at ease. My friend and I actually made an appointment to try out a Stone Massage, obviously because there were 2 of us, we were hoping to have our appointments at the same time, no-one wants to hang around and wait in someone's living room for an hour for their turn. ...which is great news for those of us who have to stuggle through the Cairo traffic to get there. It's not that cheap by Egyptian standards, definitley the higher price range, but is more than reasonable compared to English salons. They offer the traditional stuff that you would want to spoil yourself silly with - pedicures, facials, great massage, highlights, etc. and also some Middle Eastern stuff that is worth checking out and is cheaper as well. It's friendly, professional, fully-equipped and well worth a visit even if you're just visiting and would like to pamper yourself on holiday. I'm not sure when the new salon will open but the other one isn't impossible to get to and the first time I went they explained very clearly how to get there. ...on life. I am sorry, but I am your client and I am paying for this. I wasn't even offered a magazine! She might as well have kept her mouth shut, as the conversation was so boring and self-loathing. Other services Whilst in this tedious conversation she did manage to tell me about the other services that they offered. Elemis is used in this salon and that is supposed to be a good range of products (be it too expensive for my student pocket). However, a self-tanning session which is supposed to last for about 7 days, which a professional applies to you, costs about GBP34. For 7 days! They do facials also and manicures and pedicures. No acrylic nails or any sort of fake nails or nail art. They are looking into it.
