The foil sachet was quite difficult to open even tearing along the bit you're supposed to tear and didn't open properly so I had trouble getting the strips out. When you take a set of strips out of the sachet they look and feel fairly horrible. You've got 2 greaseproof paper strips sandwiched together around some gummy orange wax. They tell you to rub it between your fingers for 30 seconds to warm them up but this isn't easy. I think the best way to warm them up would be to sit on them as rubbing them between your fingers doesn't seem to do the job. ...After trying Boots single use wax strips and being a bit disappointed (Boots rarely let me down) I decided to dig a bit deeper in my pocket and buy Immac (also known as Veet) wax strips. You get 12 reusable strips (reusable up to 4 times) and they cost £5.99. The wax is blue and gel like and is quite thick and sticky. The backing paper is soft and very pliable and the strips stick VERY well to the area of choice. There is a little pain but I’ve found this to be the case with all brands of wax strips, except for Boots. The pain only lasts a split second when you rip the strips off. The main thing is that the Immac strips do work. When I used them I found that I did not have to do the same area twice. ...Initially I bought these as a friend told me that waxing means hair takes longer to grow back. Having professionally waxed before, this was my first attempt at home. Firstly, you have to rub the strips together, 'non-microwavable,' therefore you do not really get much heat and it is a bit of an inconvienience. However, I put this subside and put them in the microwave anyway, considering I was getting no 'friction' on the strips! Once applied and pulled, I noticed NO DIFFERENCE. The hair on my legs is not thick, or long, which is what I put this down to. For the price of these, you could by a good razor, which is probably easier and more effective to use!
