I tootled off to Tesco and found it very easily, in with the rest of the household cleaning products. It cost at the time about £1.25 but it's since gone up in price a little and the last bottle I bought cost me £1.39 from Sainsbury's - the bottle contains 300ml, and to my knowledge does not come in any different sizes.
The first time I used my new hob I'd cooked us all a spaghetti bolognese and there were a few splashes of sauce sprinkled over the hob. I left the hob to cool down before I attempted to clean it, as directed on the bottle's instructions. I used a clean cloth, as instructed (although they don't tell you whether this should be a wet or dry one, mine was slightly damp). I applied the cleaner to the cloth and rubbed the hob lightly, again as directed. I think I may have been a little too gentle, though, as the hardened remnants of our tea refused to budge. I applied more of the cream and this tme rubed with a little more vigour. It worked, and the spaghetti sauce came off. I then wiped away the residue by rinsing with the same cloth. After that, I 'buffed it up' with a few sheets of kitchen paper. I was pretty pleased with the results too. My hob was really bright and shiny and there was no clue as to my having just used it.
The cream itself is creamy/off white in colour and fairly runny. It's better if you apply it straight to the cloth rather than on the hob, though as it tends to 'run away' if you're not careful. It has no real smell that I can detect but maybe just a tiny hint of a citrus smell. This is fine with me though as I dislike the smell of overpowering household cleaners as they irritate me and my daughter's asthma sometimes.
The container is bright orange in colour and has a dark blue flip top. I find that the top of the bottle can get a bit messy though and this irraitaes me sometimes as if I don't take care to clean it off as soon as I'm finished with it, then it dries into a white crust and looks awful because it sits on top of the bottle. So, it's best if you clean the pouring spout as soon as you've finished applying it.
It comes in a 300ml bottle and the sticker on the front states that it is recommended by a host of appliance manufactuers, including Zanussi, Baumatic, , Tricity Bendix and Creda. The cleaner also contains 'conditioners' (although I'm unsure what these are supposed to do) and citric acid, which the bottle very clearly states you must not use with bleach or alkaline cleansers. It is also not tested on animals (excellent) and is approved by the Vegetarian Society (this confuses me little though). It's really important that you shake the bottle well before you use it as the content settle and the product won't work as well if you don't shake it. Be REALLY careful to ensure the cap is pressed down firmly before you shake the bottle though, as I once didn't and it sprayed over me and my kitchen. Even better, keep your finger pressed down on the top of the bottle whilst you shake it, just to be on the safe side!! Remember!!
I've used this product for about the last eighteen months or so but I have found lately that it's not working as well as it used to. Maybe it's just that my hob isn't as new as it was before, but I'm finding that I have to rub harder to remove the marks than I did before. The bottle advises that for more more stubborn stains you can use the Homecare Razor Scraper - I've not bought one of these yet, I'm just continuing to rub harder - or sometimes I get my husband to do it for me!!
I've also found that it works a treat on my stainless steel kettle. I use it with a clean damp cloth, rub lightly, rinse and then shine it up with a clean teatowel. It doesn't say anything about using it on stainless steel on the bottle as far as I know, but I've done this for a while now and it works a treat for me.

INTRODUCTION
Hob Brite is a cleaning agent for ceramic and halogen hobs. Now, as you might know, if you have one of these hobs, they have a flat, glass surface. This is supposed to make them easy to clean, as you are supposed to be able to just wipe them over, without the hassle of having to, for example, take gas rings apart. However, I quickly learnt after acquiring a ceramic hob in my new home that a quick wipe-down after cooking does not keep ... ...I buy a specialist cleaner, Hob Brite. Fortunately, it is sold in my local Tesco, so there was no bother obtaining a bottle.
PACKAGING AND PRICE
Hob Brite comes in a bright orange bottle with a flip-top lid. On the front of the bottle, under the product name, it says "RECOMMENDED BY: Belling, Creda, Tricity Bendix, Stoves, Zanussi, De Dietrich, Neff, Baumatic and Rangemaster". Well, I can vouch for one of those! 300ml costs £1.39.

Advantages: Economical to use, leaves hob looking like new Disadvantages: None
...Hotpoint electric oven and ceramic hob to replace the gas ones installed when our house was built, and supplied with the hob was a small sampler bottle of Hob-Brite. I'd owned an electric cooker some years earlier, and I'd always used Jif (as it was called then) to clean the hob. It did the job well, but I thought I may as well use up the freebie bottle of Hob-Brite, even if I didn't carry on with it afterwards.
Made by an Ipswich company called ... ...white, chalky marks on the hob after it has dried. This is also likely to happen if you use too much of the liquid - a tiny amount should really be sufficient for most stains.
It's quite satisfying to inspect the piece of dry kitchen roll after you've rubbed in the Hob-Brite, because when you see a dirty, brown stain on the paper, you know the stuff has done its job, and I've found that it brings my hob up nice and shiny, looking as good as it did ...

...I just bought a ceramic hob cooker because previously I never really worried too much about spillages around the cooker but now with the shiny black surface dirt starts to show up more easily. I love my cooker and being a huge pasta lover and loving my sauces etc this means that there are going to be spillages whether it's tomato sauce stains, oil after frying these all make a mess if not cleaned quick so this is why I looked into products for cleaning ... ...heard of Homecare who make Hob Brite. Advantages: Great value for money Disadvantages: Did leave a slight residue, easily comes off though.
I really just want to agree with the previous reviewers and echo what they say really. This is a billiant product. We've just moved house and had to renovate it from top to bottom. We had to buy a second hand ceramic hob due to money being a bit tight. Unfortunately the hob had scorch marks on and around every ring and I tried various products (including hob-brite) to try to remove them, but to no avail. This is the only product which was up to the job, and although I did still have to use a lot of elbow grease and the scour pad side of a sponge the hob is like brand new again and I am over the moon with the result! I would highly recomend this product to anyone. ...
Advantages: Cleans your sink! Disadvantages: Takes some serious elbow grease
. The final downer is probably pertinent to me in that I have taken on a sense of "ownership" with the sink, and resent it when people just willy nilly splash water around so that I have to start all over again.
Advantages far outway the disadvantages- it's worth giving it a go.
