You can find it all at this store. If you are looking for something in the slightest bit crafty then this is the place to be - and it's all under one roof.
My local HobbyCraft store is up on the Central Six Retail Park in Coventry City Centre. It has been open for between 2 and 3 years now.
All the different types of crafts are split into sections, so all the embroidery/needleworks kits and accessories are in one place, so are all the beads and beading items etc. They also have a book section which is interesting to look through.
If you find the appropriate craft that you want, you will find examples of that craft up on display, and all accessories associated with that craft, along with complete kits for the absolute beginners.
As well as selling the items, they hold regular craft sessions with the experts which you have to book your self onto at customer service desk. Some are free and some are chargeable, depending on the material used. There is a list of up and coming workshops when you go in on the display board.
HobbyCraft also provide a good range of How to..... leaflets which cover lots of interesting ideas.
One thing that this shop is invaluable for is kids crafts. As well as a huge range of kits for kids, they also lots of little packs of things for you to stock up on for a kids craft box. Things like - pom poms (29p), beads (49p), feathers (99p), felt (25p a square), googly eyes (30p), PVA glue (89p), gummed paper (60p pack) etc etc. The list is endless. We bought 2 yellow pom-poms and googly eyes and felt to make a chick at Easter and he cost under £1 to make. Often you can buy bigger packs, but if just buying for a one-off activity it's great.
They have an extremely wide range of glues and adhesives as well as glue guns and glue sticks. They also have adhesives for tiling, floors etc.
They have every type of paint, paintbrush and paper in this store. They have a wide variety of seasonal crafts when appropriate. Christmas and Easter being very popular. They have sales too throughout the year, and you can often pick up seasonal goods out of season and get them cheaper.
I know that there are a lot of HobbyCraft stores in the country and they have a website HobbyCraft.co.uk or HobbyCraft.com (can't remember) but they don't as yet offer a mail order service.
Thanks Anjib, you've got me salivating! There used to be a CraftWorld near me which sadly closed...but I didn't know about HobbyCraft in Coventry. I'd say that's worth a day out - better start saving now!! A good op, many thanks
