i was extremely excited to here that hobbycraft was opening up locally and waited in aticipation for it to open and i was nothing but DISSAPOINTED with the place. The front of the shop was taken up by sweet and xmas trees, where is the craft in that. I find hobbycraft very over priced and the level of service is nowhere near as good as you get in little craft stores. I visit a craft store in middlesbrough and the staff are extremely helpful. I pay just under 40p for perlised card there, and when visiting hobbycraft realised they charge over double that at 97p each which is a disgrace. although hobbycraft is big, it is also a big con. i stick by my small craft shops anyday. you will also find them much more accomadating at getting stock in for you where large stores cannot and will not do that.

Advantages: Loads to look at, leaflets to learn from, workshops held, most crafts catered for, children and adults crafts catered for Disadvantages: You can spend a long time in the shop perusing as there is so much to see
