Advantages: Great looks, great sound, good beginners' harp Disadvantages: Price
...It is very hard to criticize a Hohner diatonic harmonica....the Pro Harp in C is a great harmonica with smooth sound and very good playability; it is especially good for beginners but will delight any player.
It looks good, with a black non-stick metal cover with etching, and the model I bought was made in Germany. The comb is plastic, which has its advantages, the main one being that it is easier to play for a beginner as the lips slide more easily from note to note. The Pro Harp also comes in a handy, black, typically Hohner box which protects the harp whilst also fitting snugly inside any coat pocket.
The only problem with this harmonica is that it retails at around £19.95, which is the price I bought this model at. It is rather pricey, especially considering the fact that it can be bought more cheaply overseas. However, if you...

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful Disadvantages: Snare stand a bit flimsy
...I own a Hohner LEX 5-piece drum kit.
I bought it a couple of years ago for £300. This included Hi-hats and a crash/ride cymbal.
This drum kit is a standard 5 piece kit, consisting of a bass drum, a floor tom, two mid toms and a snare. Included was a snare stand, and a cymbal stand.
For the price the kit is surprisingly well made, with the insides of the drums smooth, and the outside finished in a shiny black laquer. There is a label on each of the drums with the make, Hohner, the model, LEX, and saying that it was made in Taiwan. All of the hardware, with the exception of the snare stand is sturdy. The two toms are affixed to the bass drum on two l-shaped brackets. The angle and height of the drums can be altered, and once satisfied, you can lock them in place using the drum key provided.
The snare stand is not really very good...

Advantages: Great to play Disadvantages: None...except price perhaps.
...The Marine Band by Hohner is a classic harmonica, it was my first years ago, and was good to learn on. It also lookes very good, with polished metal with etchings offset by the wooden comb (the bit in between the metail parts, where the holes are).
The only qualm I have on this harmonica is the fact that in the UK, in any music shop and also on the net, it'll cost you around £20, sometimes more. In fact, harmonicas in general seem to have inflated prices in the UK for some reason. Having done a bit of investigation on the net, you can get the same model for around $20 at some American online stores. Why such a difference in price?...
