Great romance with bite.
Review of Just Rewards - Barbara Taylor Bradford by  rosieemma91

Advantages: Not a typical soppy romance, dramatic at times, suspensful.
Disadvantages: Some vividly described sex scenes which may put off some buyers.

...wants. Tessa is in love. The question is, will she give up her dream of taking over Harte's one day so that she and her daugher can live a happy famiy life? This book doesn't really have a plot. Its more of an overview of the lives of the extended Harte family, and there are a lot of lives to hear about. However, Taylor Bradford does it in a way which makes the story interesting, and I really enjoyed the book. Some of the events which occur are a car accident, several deaths, a few births, some dangerous illness, heated arguements and some very complicated love lives. However, be warned not to give this to your eleven year old. Taylor Bradford doesn't hold back on sex scenes, and they are in this book in abundance. However, apart from that I would recommend this to any fan of romance novels.... Read review

The secret I took too long to uncover!
Review of Emma's Secret - Barbara Taylor Bradford by  AimeeLouise18

Advantages: Enjoyable, addictive, very descriptive, easy to relate to characters
Disadvantages: not everyone's cup of tea

...Bradford. It focuses again on the strongly loved character 'Emma Harte'. Reprinted in 2003 this Hard backed book is split into three parts, all of which are captivating and unputdownable. *** My opinion of the Book *** Barbara Taylor Bradford is an author I hadn't read anything by until I read this book. When I thought of her I imagined boring, over the top, making love by the fire and overly descriptive erotica novels. I definitely wasn't interested in reading anything from her and with so many other books out there she was always bottom on my list. In fact getting 'Emma's Secret' was a complete misunderstanding between me and the book club BCA which at the time I was a member of. But seem as though I had to pay for it and it had been sitting getting dusty on my bookshelf for a little over a year, I decided it was time to give... Read review

Review of Emma's Secret - Barbara Taylor Bradford by  SueMagee

Advantages: It's chick lit and part of a series.
Disadvantages: It's chick lit and it isn't a stand-alone novel.

...Emsie and Emily are talking about Evan who is female rather than male as you might think. They're wondering if Evan is a descendant of Emma, although it is obviously not through Edwina who is Edwin's illegitimate daughter. There is that strange resemblance to Elizabeth though and, to confuse matters even further, a nanny called Elvira. I'd had a busy day and the library trip had to be restricted to dropping six books on the counter and picking up the first six from the returned books trolley. One of these was "Emma's Secret" by Barbara Taylor Bradford. It's number four in her Emma Harte series, of which "A Woman of Substance" is the first, best and most famous. On her death bed Evan's grandmother tells her to find Emma Harte as she has the key to her future. Evan goes to London only to discover that Emma has been dead... Read review
