...so it's nearly here! The holiday I've been waiting for, for SEVEN whole months. It has seemed like a life time. I've almost finished packing and this time next week I'll be lying on a beach soaking up the sun in Mexico! And it's all thanks to the HOLIDAY HYPERMARKET in Wolverhampton!
Seven months ago my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to go on holiday. It was already June by this point and we realised that we wouldn't be able to go away that summer ... ...we would have a winter holiday instead. We wanted to go some where hot and realised it would have to be some where further away to guarantee the weather. I went into town the next day and picked up loads of brochures! We flicked though page after page, everywhere looked gorgeous we couldn't decide, so off we trotted to the Holiday Hypermarket. My first opinion of the Holiday Hypermarket was the shear size of the shop it was huge!! We were greeted ...

Advantages: Choice and Comfort Disadvantages: Their own interest at heart
...have booked four holidays with Holiday Hypermarket over the last five years.
Their shop in Edinburgh is huge, attractive and comfortable. There are plenty of seating areas, with vending machines, where you can pour over the squillions of brochures in unhassled comfort.
For any one destination you could have 5 plus brochures to choose from, as opposed to 1 or 2 in other travel shops. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful to a point!
... ...popped along excitedly to the Holiday Hypermarket.
We explained our needs ie. one of two resorts, but definately somewhere quiet. The young girl typed all the info into the computer and kept coming back with holidays in busier resorts. I was watching what she was doing on the screen and asked her several times if she had checked ALL the tour operators. She said she had. It was then that I noticed that all the options she was giving us were for First ...

Advantages: Lower priced holidays Disadvantages: Poor telephone system and telephone manners
Holiday Hypermarket is possibly the worst travel agency I have had dealings with.
I am in the travel trade industry and, as part of my job, I have to deal with many travel agencies on a daily basis.
From the outset of making a phone call to them, you are bombarded with “please press 1 for, 2 for” etc. Then, just when you think you have done it and managed to get through, the patronising recorded male voice says, “please call 08721…”
... ...to at least SOUND happy and enthusiastic. From reading other people’s opinions on this company, I gather that the product knowledge of the staff at Holiday Hypermarket is very good and the holidays themselves are reasonably priced. What a shame their telephone manners let them down. ...

Advantages: friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, cheap, personalised service Disadvantages: you can only call the croydon branch once you have made a booking otherwise you end up ringing telesales -which i would avoid at all costs!if you visit on a weekend you need to be prepared to wait to be served as it seems to be so popular.
...say how good i found holiday hypermarket,in croydon(valley park industrial estate ,by ikea).I wanted to go on a good cheap lastminute holiday to florida(Orlando specifically), and i dealt with a guy in the worldwide department .The store is really large but the people are really friendly and one guy was really knowledgeable .(Theo was his name cos i remember it was the same name as mine!so that put me in a good mood for starters!as its not a common ... ...telesales department and you avoid the bad experiences of the phone system from what i have heard from other colleagues....so avoid their telesales department!.If you want a holiday find a branch that you can visit in person ,but dont book over the phone as you will probably end up frustrated! ...

Advantages: Very helpful, nice staff Disadvantages: none
...Anyway, i deserve a holiday (i think) so on thursday night, i hotfooted it up to the holiday hypermarket in Edinburgh, 30 minutes before it closed to have a quick look, with the thought to maybe come and book something at the weekend.
Inside the place is superb. Looks like a mini disneyland with all the bits anf bobs, french cafe style waiting room, bates motel with the musci to go. Nice.
I have never met such friendly people. The staff went far ... ...they found us a perfect holiday and then when we came to pay, my flatmates card was declined and i had not brought mine. They cant keep holidays open for people at the last minute, but they did. As long as we were there the next morning at 9am we could have it. They stayed open for an extra 20 minutes to try to help us. And they didnt seem to mind at all. So helpful and kind.
And we were. But the girl who had served us, Kerry-Ann, had phoned in ...

Advantages: A great selection of shops, free parking Disadvantages: Doesn't have any designer stores
...'re bound to get a good bargain from Oasis and DP's. They always have a £5 bargain rail. I brought a pair of plain black wedges for £5 from Oasis last Saturday.
There is just one Travel agents here that's the HolidayHypermarket, which seem to have some great holiday offers in the window!
After all that shopping your going to need replenishing.
There are a few restaurants here all in one place in the corner of the shopping strip. The toilets are situated here as well and they have a mother and baby room too. There is the popular Burger King which is often filled with children on a Saturday afternoon. For a treat go to Drucker's and eat a chocolate éclair!
There is a pub if things are that bad called the Mill House which also do good pub grub for reasonalbe prices.
So if your in the West Midlands area and you fancy doing a bit...

Advantages: excellent service cheap Disadvantages: caused rushed packing and shopping!
...Within 32 hours of my boyfriend returning from Germany i had dragged him to Ibiza! All thanks to First Choice HolidayHypermarket at rotherham.
We decided to book a very last minute holiday to Ibiza and tried Thomas cook. They found one suitable holiday at £800 each. We took the details to First Choice and they said they would do it better.
It was not what we had really wanted and not in our location choice.
First choice searched for us and within a matter of minutes they found 7nights in Playa D'en Bossa at a Thompson exclusive hotel just under £400each. They threw in travel insurance for free and this included all the transfers etc. They also did our holiday money for the same price as marks and spencer.
This was my first time with first choice but will not be my last!...

...---INTRODUCTION---
I went to Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria in June of this year (2007)
It was a last minute booking on the site 'HolidayHypermarket'
When we recieved the tickets we were happy to find that the holiday had been provided by the holiday line- 'Thomas Cook' It's an instantly recognisable company with a good reputation, so when we were told we would be staying in the Guanabara apartments, we presumed we could trust they were going to be upto a good standard as the company we were travelling with, surely wouldn't use apartments which weren't going to give them a good image?
---GUANABARA PARK---
Guanabara Park only offers self-catering, as they don't have a restaurant to provide anything else. Theres 102 apartments in the complex and theres a choice of either a balcony or terrace, its about a ten minute walk from...

I had nearly run out of my usual body moisturiser and was trawling the shelves of my local Morrison supermarket to see what special offers they could tempt me with. Then my eyes alighted on an end of aisle display of Johnson's Holiday Skin Body Lotion. more
