    Advantages Advantages Good for skin and energy

    After suffering from Eczema for several years I have tried many different things from herbal mud drinks to healthy diets and of course supplements. Flaxseed oil is something that is recommended normally for people with acne but is actually good for all skin due to the Omega properties. Omegas are something that is constantly drilled into our skulls which we most commonly and naturally find in oily fish such as salmon (no not your battered cod from the chip shop).     Flaxseed oil (also called linseed oil) contains the omega 3 fatty acid alpha linolenic acid (ALA), as well as the omega 6 fatty acid linoleic acid (LA). These are the two fatty acids that are actually essential to the body, and they are present in flax oil in a proportion of about 4:1, ALA:LA. This goes some way to redress the imbalance in modern diets, omega 6 is more available than omega 3, which is why omega 3 supplements are popular. I have been vegetarian since the age of twelve, and this was something that my mother opposed for many years (still does, in fact). Being so young when I decided to make the change, she was concerned that my health would suffer due to my not getting enough of the vitamins and other nutrients provided by meat and fish.
