I'd reccomend these ones because they are suitable for veggies and vegans and are free of artifical anything, and are small enough so that they don't get stuck in your throat and gagged back up again unlike those made by 'Good 'N' Natural': The capsule shell is geletine and they're massive.
'Gerard House' have 250mg of St John's Wort and 1 or 2 tablets should ... ...300mg and only one should be taken 3 times a day.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding they should be avoided and they aren't reccomended for children under 12. The horse pills state that skin may become photo sensitive, so you should limit your time in the sun, but my 'Gerard House' ones don't state this.

St John's Wort is a common perrenial herb, AKA Hypericum, which comes from the Greek meaning 'Over an apparition'. Way back when, the Greeks believed that if an evil spirit took a sniff of it, it would make them fly away in disgust and repulsion.
The reason it's more commonly known as 'St John's Wort' is because of it's asscociation with St John the baptist, on whose birthday it was said to have first bloomed.
The Chinese say that it promotes concentration and feelings of well-being and studies have shown that it helps those with mild depression and has less side effects than those anti-depressants given through prescription.
I've tried to find more info about the herb, but the sites I've looked at have limited information about it, except to sell it you at a bargain price, but aswell as the above it can also help against bed wetting if drunk as a tea before bedtime, and can be used to treat the following: Dysentry, Worms, Diarrhoea, Jaundice and bowel problems and if taken externally can dispel hard tumours.
I decided to take it to help my concentration and with the vague hope that I'd stop being such a bitch at the wrong time of the month. I've been taking it for a month now and have noticed that I don't need to crawl to bed, knackered, in the afternoons anymore so am definately more able to function, and my concentration and short term memory has improved so much that my conversation is now more than "Can you get me the thingy...it's on the...bloody.....whatsit there....stop being so stupid! The thing! You KNOW what I mean!" But the PMT, ladies, is still there.
The price can range from about £5 per 100 capsules to £18 and beyond, depending on the make and quantity of tablets. The ones I have at the moment were fairly cheap at about £6 from Holland and Barratt and are made by 'Gerard House'. I'd reccomend these ones because they are suitable for veggies and vegans and are free of artifical anything, and are small enough so that they don't get stuck in your throat and gagged back up again unlike those made by 'Good 'N' Natural': The capsule shell is geletine and they're massive.
'Gerard House' have 250mg of St John's Wort and 1 or 2 tablets should be taken thrice daily and the 'Good 'N' Natural' are 300mg and only one should be taken 3 times a day.

I was going to wait to write this op until I'd been using them for longer than the month, but I noticed an improvement after a couple of weeks and demand them to be used by all.
I haven't noticed any side effects yet, I promise to update if neccessary, but when I forget to take them as often as stated on the bottle I'm half the gibbering fool that I was, and not the articulate woman I am when taking them regularly. So if my op is full of typo's and bad grammer, blame the wort.
Advantages: great treatment for depression, great health booster as I was cold free all the time I took it, easy to swallow capsules, good value for money Disadvantages: bottle not childproof, a little controversy going on at the mo
...time. The staff at Holland and Barrett were very helpful with helping me choose the right product, as the St Johns Wort tablets they sell come in different concentrations. They were fairly expensive, with 180 being around £9. However at that time not many shops at all sold St Johns Wort.
Few weeks after starting to take them, I felt a marked improvement in myself. I was not so low anymore and they gave me the balance I needed to get me going again. ... ...to moderate depression, St Johns Wort has antiviral and antibacterial properties and these could potentially be responsible for my cold-free status for the 10 months I took St Johns Wort! Not one cold or snuffle! I felt in top condition!
the packaging was not child proof however with a flip-open lid.
The capsules were small and easy to swallow with liquid, once a day. I would not recommend opening the capsules up to examine the grass-like appearance ...

...Wort that she got from Holland and Barrett...for less than £5! So after watching her go though it and how much this helped I thought I would give you some more information on the product.
- -What it treats- -
St John's Wort can treat many different things including improving your circulation, can relieve PMT, it can fight retroviruses, simple little colds and it can also help people who struggle to sleep. However the main thing it is recognised ... ...advice.
- -Price- -
Holland and Barrett have campaign changes every couple of months which rotate. The best thing to do is too keep an eye on the website as that reflects the prices of those it store too (or you can just order from home!). The shelf price for 100 capsules is £8.49 but when found in a campaign, will dramatically drop. If you intend to take a lot, my advice would be to wait for it to go into a deal then stock up while you can so ...
