A Look In Holly's Box!
Review of Hollys Inbox - Holly Denham by  mummy2harry

Advantages: Funny, interesting, quick paced
Disadvantages: I thought it was real lol

...After browsing the library and finding no books which suited me, I decided to check out my town's charity shops as I can often pick up some bargains, and sometimes books I wouldn't usually look twice at. I usually hate books set out in email format, I stopped reading a Cecelia Ahern book because of the letter/email style of writing, so when I saw Holly's Inbox in my local Save the Children, I wasn't too keen but after reading the back, it did sound really interesting so I thought it was worth a try for £1.50! Holly's Inbox is based on the emails of a receptionist working in London called Holly Denham. It all started with an online website, www.hollysinbox.com, which was apparently revealing Holly's emails to the web in real time. This was a real craze online, somehow I missed it so I was quite eager to read the books and find out what... Read review

GOODBYE DEAREST HOLLY - A DIFFICULT WRITE/READ
Review of Goodbye Dearest Holly - Kevin Wells by  kismet

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: none

...I thought hard before requesting Ciao to put this book on so that I could write a review about it. In fact, I thought hard about buying the book. But when I was in Macro one day, it was there on the shelf reduced and I thought I would give it a go. I had often thought it quite odd that Kevin Wells had written a book about the death of his daughter, but after reading it, I changed my mind. I am not sure what I was expecting, but the book is a matter of fact statement of the events and feelings of that terrible time when Jessica and Holly went missing and were eventually found dead in a ditch. There cannot be anybody out there who did not hear about the murders of two little girls in Soham in August 2002. That eternal image of them in their Manchester United tops must have been seen all over the world. For two weeks... Read review

Alluring faery knights...What more could you want?
Review of Tithe - Holly Black by  super-t

Advantages: Well written...Quite a realistic story, despite faery galore
Disadvantages: Definately for young adults, so Spiderwick fans may miss out

...If you're thinking the name Holly Black sounds familiar, then you've probably heard it from the immensely popular Spiderwick Chronicles (which i think is going to be released as a film soon). The plot The scene is set with Kaye and her mother at a gig in the city. When Kayes' mums' boyfriend tries to attack her, Kaye intervines, ad they have to move back to her home town to live with her grandma. And also, its the place where she happens to see faeries. meeting up with her old friend, Janet, she goes to a hang out with her and her friends and meets Janets boyfiend, kenny. And in the process she ends up seducing him unintentionally, entrapping him to like her...but she doesn't know how or why. Running from this scene, embarrassed and confused, she hears a groan from a copse of wood. Investigating, she meets Roiben... Read review
