I'm used to being the girl who reads every new bit of chick-lit going before any of her friends, so "Holly's Inbox" is a slightly sore subject with me. I'm used to my friends going "Oh I'm reading this book, it's really good" and I've always read whatever it is and can feel an internal glow of smugness about it. (I know, it's terrible of me, I'm ashamed but it's true!) But when my friend Donna mentioned she was reading "Holly's Inbox", i couldn't ... ...on amazon trying to buy it but what with the postal strikes and all, it took nearly four weeks before I had a copy (why didn't I just go buy it in a shop? because i'm LAZY!!!)
I was also clueless about the whole "Holly's Inbox" phenomenon online - a receptionist who put her emails online for the world to see, and ended up with tons of people going online everyday to read the latest installments, which ultimately led to the book deal I suppose in ...

Advantages: Funny, interesting, quick paced Disadvantages: I thought it was real lol
After browsing the library and finding no books which suited me, I decided to check out my town's charity shops as I can often pick up some bargains, and sometimes books I wouldn't usually look twice at. I usually hate books set out in email format, I stopped reading a Cecelia Ahern book because of the letter/email style of writing, so when I saw Holly's Inbox in my local Save the Children, I wasn't too keen but after reading the back, it did sound ... ...for £1.50!
Holly's Inbox is based on the emails of a receptionist working in London called Holly Denham. It all started with an online website, www.hollysinbox.com, which was apparently revealing Holly's emails to the web in real time. This was a real craze online, somehow I missed it so I was quite eager to read the books and find out what it was about. I've since done a bit of digging and found out it is indeed fiction, and was just chick-lit ...

Advantages: relatable characters, fun story Disadvantages: -
It has been a long time since I have had any time to read a book, which is quite ashame as I used to love a good book especially under the 'chick lit' category. Being nearly summer and with me going away soon, I ventured into my nearest Waterstones to have a look at the latest girly reads for the summer, to see what I have missed. I know the saying goes never judge a book by its cover but can't help but pick up books which are pretty colours with ... ...also scan the blurb to see what appeals, after reading the backs of many books, I finally found two worth having a further look at and of these was Holly's Inbox.
So, I was unsure at first about Holly's Inbox, because I noticed the author was Holly Denham, so I then thought it was the writer trying to be funny using an alias to make the book seem like a real person's Inbox. It wasn't tell I read the first few pages of thank yous and notes that it ...

Advantages: Gets Better As You Read On , Great Characters , Different Disadvantages: Boring To Start With
As it is the school / College summer holidays , it means I have quite a bit of time on my hands at the moment. So being a fan of chick-lit books , I decided to stock up on romantic books to keep me entertained during the holidays. I headed straight for play.com , as I am a regular customer of theirs and find it is a website I can trust. I was delighted when I saw they had a sale ; some items with 80% off! I browsed through the list of books in the ... ...book which appealed to me , so I clicked on it to read more about it. I decided to buy the book , for a reduced price of £4.99 instead of the recommended £7.99. Within a couple of days the book had arrived on my doorstep.
Holly's Inbox is a rather strange book. Although having read the 'blurb' on the website , I knew it was a book about a girl named Holly and that it contained emails. However I was rather suprised when I opened it up and discovered ...
