Advantages: Stylish, Reliable, Easy To Clean, Perfect for Chocolate Disadvantages: Costly, No Lid, A Little Small For Meat Dishes
...If fondue sets were the epitome of 1970's dinner party kitsch, this violently tangerine- coloured gem by Le Creuset must surely be the John Travolta of cheese-bubblers. Shamelessly orange, and nestled like a plump hen on its black, cast-iron nest, the Creuset caquelon somehow contrives to be chic and yet timeless, stylish yet efficient. It seems made to last, possibly forever, and is very easy to clean. In short, the Le Creuset Gourmand is the smartest and most functional fondue caquelon I've ever owned. Furthermore, secured as it is by a 101-year guarantee, I don't imagine I'll ever have cause to buy another one…
Fondue fads come and go, and suddenly, it seems it's 'hip to dip' once again. Consider the evidence. Stella McCartney, launching her latest Adidas range last month, celebrated with a fondue party in Aspen, natch. Chocolate...

Advantages: Hi-Tech drawer design, saves energy, VERY QUIET Disadvantages: the drawers are too small to wash LARGE items

Advantages: fun, easy to use, looks amazing Disadvantages: not great for small children, messy, hard to clean
...My husband (bless him) bought me this for my birthday - I think he was determined to find the most impractical gadget he could and he certainly succeeded with a chocolate fountain. It takes up masses of space on my limited amount of kitchen worktop, you could only possibly want to use it for special occasions so it spends most of its life taking up more space in a cupboard, and it takes ages to clean (if you count all the spills as well as all the bits!)
It's a lovely idea in theory - who needs a fondue set when you can just put your pre-melted chocolate into this fountain, and at the flick of a switch, hey presto - a flowing fountain of cocoa heaven... I have to admit I do love using it, and it looks very impressive. It would make a great gift for a chocoholic - it's just not all that practical!
How does it work...
