chipset makes the receiver more sensitive still then the XTrac2 allowing it to gain a signal even indoors. As is now customary with the Holux GPS devic

...A slim GPS Receiver that connect to your device using 'Bluetooth' a handy product that will enable your smartphone or windows mobile phone to connect to the GPS satalite network for trip guidence and other similar sat-nav tasks.
I have used this with my O2 XDA mini phone and found it to be very reliable. I loaded the Destinator sat-nav software onto my phone, launched the application and swithched on the Holux receiver and once i had set up the pairing in my phone it was good to go!
Reception was excellent and accuracy very good. In fact because it is so portable i was able to compare it with my friends Pergout car's factory fitted sat-nav and it beat it for accuracy hands down.
I also use it with some Geocaching software for paperless caching - look up Geocaching on google if you want to know what it is?

...Well, I never imagined a cable like this could add so much functionality adn interest to a simple navigational item. The potential of a Garmin is enormous even without the PC interface but once you have this cable it really does help the GPS unit and PC/laptop to come alive together as they work in unison. With the right mapping software the world is your oyster as you are enabled to upload, download and track where you want to go, are going or have already been. Software enables all kinds of mapping including some 3D modeling and can therefore even help you plan some amazing complicated routes in highland areas. In addition to all of this, if you’re happy to run a laptop in the car then the fact that you can track liev means that you acn almost use it as a sat nav system.
Overall, highly recommended......

Advantages: Improves reception, loading time is dramatically reduced, Much better accuracy Disadvantages: plating is wearing off the connector
...and finally brought forward to the dashboard with a couple of feet to spare. The antenna itself is a small plastic box with a strong magnet on the bottom, so theer is no fixing to worry about.
I plugged the lead into the Sat Nav and switched on. In a couple of seconds it was displaying "Ready to Navigate"
Since then, about 10 days ago, I have covered over 2,000 miles and have not lost reception once, including the wooded section of the A350 just north of Shaftesbury in Dorset, where I always lost signal for about 2 miles.
I have noticed some of the plating wearing off the plug, exposing bare plastic.
This is because It is not a good idea to leave the SAT NAV in the car when parked, so I have to take the cable out if I park somewhere dodgy, like city centres. I must say that this does not appear to have affected performance.
It...
