...I hear you thinking. Well, HomeLet Tenants' Insurance actually does that for you. If there are any costs to be recovered from your deposit for damages then you can claim on your insurance policy, and minus the £100 excess, you get your deposit back. It doesn't count towards cleaning bills, but anyone can do that themselves before they move out, so it's not a major disadvantage.
This takes out so much stress it's unreal, and nowadays many letting ... ...covers available, but looking into it HomeLet has a good claim history and the little extras on the policy are worth paying the extra for, in my opinion.
