Home Bargains is a national retail company. The aim of the business is to ‘sell top brands at bottom prices’. The company was established in Liverpool over thirty years ago. Founded by TJ Morris, the company has remained family owned and family run.
The business sells a wide range of products. Such products include: household items, beauty products, food, toys, clothing, seasonal products (Halloween, Christmas etc.) as well as other types of products. Because the business sells so many different items, shopping is made easier for the people of Oswestry as it means that they can do a lot of their shopping in one place.
~ * What Kind of Items Do They Sell? * ~
Such Items include: Toys, slippers, fancy dress outfits, household items such as mirrors, pictures, items for pets, candles, pots and pans, mugs, Food, Alcohol, Storage Boxes, Ironing Boards, Towels, Perfume, Items for your kitchen, bathroom, living room, garden etc… anything and everything really.
~ * Which Brands? * ~
Brands include: Cadburys, Rowntrees, Colgate, Mr Muscles, Fairy, Daz, Nivea and Herbal Essences to name a few. So as you can see there are a lot of well-known brands sold here.
~ * Why Is It So Popular? * ~
Home Bargains sells products at discounted prices, top brands included. I think that customers would rather purchase branded products at a lower price at Home Bargains rather than from places such as Wilkinsons or at supermarkets where they are higher in price. I know I would and do.
~ * Variation! * ~
One thing which I like about Home Bargains is the fact that their products change regularly. They have a huge...what I would call 'Gift' section. Lots of nicely packaged items (beauty ones as well as other types) and I think that these make fabulous presents. I would therefore recommend this shop for when you are Christmas shopping and for birthdays too. All at a great price. Recently, I had a go at 'making a filled shoe box' for Operation Christmas Child; I went to this store and managed to fill three boxes for around £9 - I had loads of stuff, and good stuff too.
~ * Do I Like It? * ~
Yes! I like shopping at Home Bargains because of the price. You will always find a bargain and you can find a lot of your usual household items for less than a pound. By shopping here, you can shave pounds off your 'normal' shopping bill, meaning that you have extra cash to buy yourself a little present from their 'gift section'.
~ * What Other Items Do They Sell? * ~
They sell food items which I think is good, plus they are at a cheaper price. However, they only sell ‘dried’ food, such as biscuits, sweets and ‘instant’ foods such as Supernoodles, Pot Noodles and other types of food like that. They don’t sell any fresh produce such as fruit or vegetables. I have found when I have bought cereal bars or chocolate that sometimes they are not ‘quite right’ and are either really dry or taste as though they don’t have enough sugar. They are ok though and it wouldn’t put me off buying them again.
They also have a great selection of greetings cards which you can buy from as little as 29p.
It’s worth having a look here, especially when you can buy cards from Clintons etc for £3+. The cards here do look expensive too and so you wouldn’t know that you’d only spent a few pence.
~ * STAR BUYS * ~
They always have offers on, or as they call them ‘Star Buys’. There are always plenty of offers on and you can always see them as they are always put in places that you can see them easily; at the end of the aisles, or as you go in. They always have brilliant offers although you do have to be quick as items get snapped up really quickly.
~ * How Easy Is It To Get Around * ~
In general, the products are easy to find and are located in an organised way. You have all the beauty items together, then the cleaning products together, the home items together etc. So most things are easy to find. The store is well laid out with plenty of room between aisles which I think is great as other shops like these seem to have really narrow aisles.
~ * What About The Staff? * ~
The staff here are always friendly, whether they are on the check-out or stacking the shelves,. They are always pleasant and willing to help which is nice…and it makes such a difference to your shopping experience too.
I have bought many types of products from here and they have always been of high quality. It is a great place whether you’re after food items, cleaning products, a treat for yourself or just anything. You can guarantee that you will find it here - and a great price to!
~ * Any Bad Points? * ~
My only negative point is the fact that if you find something such as a nice beauty gift set, you can’t guarantee that you will see it there again. As for the cleaning products, food, etc. you can be sure that you will see those kind of things again.
~ * Extra Points * ~
They have trolleys or baskets. Trolleys cost £1.
You can buy really cheap sweets – I bought a ‘twisty marshmallow’ for just 9p! Bargain!
The store is always very clean and tidy. The products are always stacked neatly and are always ‘well stocked’.
It is the kind of shop where you could spend hours and still not get bored. There really is something for everyone in here, whether it is babies, toddlers, children, teenagers or adults.
You can also buy online from their website, however I have never tried this and therefore I am unable to comment on this service.
The store is easy to access and is flat which means that it is suitable for wheelchair users as there is only one floor.
~ * Make Sure You Stop Here! * ~
With Christmas coming, be sure to stop here. You will be able to pick up some great gifts and some fantastic stocking fillers. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could do all of your Christmas shopping in this store.
Thanks for reading!
