HOMECHOICE - revised opinion
Advantages Not so many any more
Disadvantages changes in Customer services attitude
I left a rave review for Homechoice about 18 months ago... since then my opinion has changed dramatically. While the package that they offer is OK - the price has crept up and the service offered has declined. Other providers now offer similar sevices and they have been bought out by Ticali - and it shows.
We have had odd problems (box switchin off, moving home and ebing conned...We were happy with the service. Then we moved house and they started a new contract - I was told that this was just administration, not a new contract - only when we cam eto leave we were still tied in. THe customer services was appalling. Where they used to be open till at least 10pm they are now only open till 8.
The new series appearing on C1 seemed to get smaller and smaller and only consist of BBC made programmes. There were inconsistencies in the programmes they have on replay (some episodes of a series, but not all - so you couldn't rely on it to watch something the whole way through.Generally we are annoyed with them - we have swapped now to Sky+ and are happier with that, but we still have to pay for a basic Homechoice package until April (even though we have been with them for over 18 months).
Other people like Virgin nopw offer the same services and we are finding the broadband to be too slow.
