Another winner from Pioneer
Review of Pioneer VSX-C301 A/V Receiver by jerzed

Advantages: Compact, Excellent sound, attractive and slimline, versatile, multifunction remote
Disadvantages: Only SCART connectors for inputs, Adaptor needed for non-scart stuff

...socket" to allow linking several Pioneer units to share controls. To be honest I don't use this facility despite also having a Pioneer DVD player. **** IMPORTANT ****** On some DVDs you may find that the voices sem to have disappeared. DON'T PANIC, I solved this by connecting the DVD player to the Amplifier with an additional Coax lead (It is actually a single phono to phono plug lead. Thought I'd let you know as this drove me NUTS as it only occurred ...
...more standard 6 Ohm), the Pioneer is extremely compact, measuring 420mm (W) x 70mm (H) x 383mm (D). It also sports an RDS AM/FM tuner for the radio fans out there. You NEED an aerial though or the reception will be dire. Mine is hooked up to a Pioneer DVD-565 multi-region DVD player and plays through a set of five Celestion AVS-101 speakers and Panasonic TX-28CK1 TV From a design point of view, this is a very pretty item and oozes quality. Pioneer receiver
Review of Pioneer SX-205RDS by celicanavis

Advantages: Lots of power and range of tones
Disadvantages: Not enough speaker connections

This pioneer receiver is a great buy. It will work great for a home theater or just some great sound ina room or through out the house. I have mine connected in my room. I only wish it had a sub out for connecting a high power sub to the receiver. I was still able to connect a sub by useing the left two speaker connects to run to one but now my sound is mono with all bass from one side and everything from another. It has lots of power though and ...
...to connect almost anything. A great feature is if you are over powering or messed up the wireing it will shut its self off and say over loaded. norammly all you need to do is turn it off and back on to reset adn play it a little lower other wise you know you have a wire crossed. The remote is a good remote works from a distance and can do everything so you don't have to move from your seat. Also there is alot of adjustments you can do to perfectly ... Read review

Pioneer VSX D812 - Its like the pictures!
Review of Pioneer VSX-D812 A/V Receiver by anthmack

Advantages: Fantastic sound Quality, affordable (without losing manufacturer quality), Very easy to use, can handle several speakers without the need for adding additional amps, Plenty of inputs and outputs (ideal if you want to hook it up to the stereo and tv)
Disadvantages: None. My parents have bought the system, and have a technological knowledge of zero, therefore they find the use of the remote control a little confusing, but after set-up and a good read of the manual, its relatively easy to get to grips with

...but have instead bought the Pioneer Reciever. They had been talking about getting a good surround system, as they watch the television quite a lot (too much), and generally listen to a lot of music when entertaining. I must say they have got a brilliant buy, and at an affordable price. (Prices are generally a lot cheaper if you buy in the states, and therefore got a bargain at only US $349, which at todays exchange rate is £188, which may I say ...

Does a lot, but does it extreemly well!
Review of Pioneer VSX-AX3 Multi-Channel Stereophonic A/V Receiver by Omertron

Advantages: 5 separate source inputs, easy to set-up, superb sound.
Disadvantages: Weighs a lot (16kg!), quite big.

...components; an AV amplifier (the Pioneer VSX-AX3) and a set of speakers (see my review of the Mordaunt-Short Genie). Before I settled on these components I did a lot of research on the web to find out what the current trends are and what the reviewers thought of various pieces of kit. One of the best resources on the web for reviews are www.homecinemachoice.com and www.avforums.com. Once I settled on what I wanted, I found a local store (Richer Sounds: ...
...does it do? ---------------------------------------------- The Pioneer VSX-AX3 is what is called a home cinema amplifier (Amp). Ok, no wiser? Well, the idea is that the amp plugs into all of your audio-visual equipment such as TV, DVD player, CD changer (known as sources) and then plays the sound out through a set of (usually high quality) speakers. Also, the amp can apply some clever technology to make them sound better, usually by turning even ... Read review

Superb all-round amp!
Review of Pioneer VSX-D912 A/V Receiver by omutumo

Advantages: Solid build, looks, quality
Disadvantages: None yet

The range of features on this amp is outstanding. It looks fantastic with the all metal constructions and brushed aluminium front panel. The display is well lit, but can be dimmed if it becomes an interference. The rear panel is intimidating to look at for a beginner, but after close examination everything is very well laid out. It has almost every available input/output option you might need for nearly all cable types (I have managed to plug in ...
...front are conveniently hidden behind a flip down panel. When I first used it I found that the controls seemed limited but everything you want is there (it has just been simplified). The best feature(s) on this amp has to be all quick set up options. The amp asks you a series of questions to give you the optimal sound output depending on this like room size, number of speakers etc. To top this off is the provided microphone. You can plug the mic ... Read review
