Samsung 5.1 1080p upscaling systems
Advantages: Brillant sound and is to use Disadvantages: Still Only Buget hi-fi and player
Were to the start, this products is great for the money you pay for, the picture quality of normally films you can actually see the difference which at first amazed me. The speakers come across very clear no extra sounds and if you were to have all 5 speakers set out thought the room it would give you extra feeling of being in the movie, the sound is Crystal clear but does not come out very loud, the user interface of the DVD player is brilliant, ... ...in my opinion the system is great for the money if you’re on tight budget. Also another feature that i look in 2 was the radio this will depend were u live if you get good singal, when i was using it the sounds were amazing clear for radio which did shock me. ...

Great specification for upgrading, but sadly disappointed
Advantages: DVD 1080p upscaling with Virtual 10.1 sound Disadvantages: Loses sound field settings which require to be reset too often
...the same way as the LG TV, the audio inputs need to be manually selected from the remote control The LG remote controls do offer SIMPLINK, but this only works when watching a DVD, so I found I rarely used it I found the front display on system rather bright, especially the back light to the volume button However, the SLEEP button the remote control dims the display and switches the back light off Now for my main issues with this system! Every time ... ...use this setting all the time, but again it cannot be set permanently Given a choice I would not buy another LG DVD Home Ciname Systems and would consider another SONY However, as a first purchase or for the lower price the system still meets my requirements ...

It's a winner in my eyes
Advantages: Sounds and looks great Disadvantages: Time isn't displayed on front of DVD player
This Sony Home Cinema system was replacing my broken Sony S880 and I was expecting the usual quality with the Sony Brand. This cinema system has the following:- 5.1 Channel, 850 Watts from a central speaker, 2 Tallboy speakers, 2 rear speakers and a subwoofer Built in up-scaler via HDMI cable iPod/iPhone cradle Movie playback from USB memory stick Optional wireless speaker capability (rear speakers only) Bravia Sync, for your Bravia TV using only ... ...too thick and checked the Sony Quick setup guide that they give you. It really was extremely easy to set up. You hook up the DVD player to your TV and each speaker has a colour coded wire that plugs into your DVD player and then in to the back of the Tallboy, subwoofer and Central Speaker. Then you put a wireless card into the back of your DVD player and the other into the back of the central speaker box that your rear speakers plug into. The box ...

Surround sound from only 2 sets of speaker? How!
Advantages: Looks sexy, price, sound quality, features Disadvantages: Not quite as good as proper surround sound.
Thats what Samsung claim, the effect of surround sound from a 2.1 setup. I'm not sure i'd agree, for me it just seems a bit echo-y! However this system still has a lot going for it as you can turn off the "virtual surround" option and just have fantastic sound which fills the room, but maybe doesn't give you complete surround sound (it also doesn't have your house trailing with cables everywhere). I got this system to compliment my Series 5 40" 1080p ... ...the same remote on your Samsung TV, thus cutting down on the clutter of having to brandish multiple remotes. 1080p upscaling for your regular DVD's, although you need to use the HDMI cable for this, and some button pressing on the remote to setup the system for 1080p (all explained in the manual) or it'll just run at regular 480p for your old DVD's. An FM radio, yeah i'm not sure why they still include these either/ Two Aux ports, a USB connection ...

Good Surround sound for value
Advantages: 5.1 surround sound, Digital Optical input, clear sound, good value Disadvantages: speakers could do with a bit more bass
I recently purchased the Ferguson FHt1000 Home theatre kit and generally im very pleased with it. I had previously bought a number of similar home theatre kits only to find that the one feature I was looking for(Digital optical input) was not included when it was actually described in certain catalogue listings as having it which consequently meant me having to get refunds.
After trawling through a number of websites and looking in my local electrical ... ...can tell for its price it is the only one to have not only 5.1 surround sound, but also a digital optical input. when setting up the kit in my living room i found the wires for the rear speakers to be more than long enough to cope with being tacked to skirting boards. overall a good purchase and good value for money ...
