Advantages: Great value, easy to set up, excellent sound quality

Excellent!! I just bought this system to run with my Toshiba 32" flat screen, another recent buy, to go along with an upgrade to Sky+ and HD tv. I took advice of other reviewers and also bought top quality HDMI and Digital Optical cables off Amazon for about a tenner. Well worth it.

Sony Strikes Again!
Advantages: 850 watts of pure unadulterated sound!
Disadvantages: Not enough connections on the back. (sound inputs)
The Sony DAV-DZ260 is a brilliant piece of kit.
I have had this sound system for over 6 months now and my main uses for it vary. I use it to:
- Play and Upscale my DVD's to near high definition to play on my 32 inch LCD tv.
- Use the optical input on it to play my xbox 360 with 5.1 surround sound.
- Use the audio in/3.5mm jack to play music, play games and watch movies on my computer
All of these tasks are executed with the precision and level ...
...sound system, being TrueHD ready on 0.1% of each channel this is moving towards being ready for blu-ray.
The sound is crisp and clear as well as being really rather loud and undistorted at a higher range of volume. The volume only goes up to 35, and its hard to hear anything after 30.
And even then it is bearable.
I have never been tempted to use the USB connection on the front of the sony, as it does not appeal to me as i already play the music ...

Advantages: Price, Sound, Quality.
Disadvantages: None so far
Tight, rich and crisp sound with a great price tag, also giving you many features like multi formate play back (divx etc.), various pro-logic settings. USB ripping makes it easy to transfer movies and music from your computer directly to the dvd player (via usb stick), quick and easy! The user above me posting stuff about the subwoofer 'cracking' is full of it. I'm not sure if they are referring to the actual subwoofer driver or the subwoofer box., ...

Brilliant sound and picture quality.
Advantages: play movies off usb stick, HD Upscalling, Great cinema quality sound.
Disadvantages: wireless woofer sometimes loses connection.
Brilliant system. The sound is amazing its as if you are in a real cinema. I have had my system now for nearly 6 months with out much problem except for the wireless subwoofer loosing connection now and again which is easily rectified by simply bring it more in range of the system, mine is in a corner beside cupboards which sometimes blocks the range.
