Panasonic SC-PT460
Review of Panasonic SC-PT460 by acnicolaou20

Advantages: Great Sound and picture quality
Disadvantages: Only Ipod mp3 works (mainly), unclear instruction manual

I wanted an upconverting Panasonic DVD to go with my Panasonic 32lxd700 LCD, as I didn't want to pay the premium for a Blu-ray player that at present don't look, in my opinion, that much better than standard DVD's. I chose this model as it seemed good value with the extra surround-sound and MP3 capabilities. The Good Points; The picture is excellent. The sound is excellent, once you've worked-out the settings. It adds extra bite to the soundtrack ...
...you least suspect it.The remote is small and easy to use. It's great value, with the amount of features available. The Annoying Points;- The instructions are not too clear when setting the sound up i.e a few of the buttons have three different functions. Why not just add seperate buttons? If you don't have an i-pod, your mp3 might not work, even though there is a usb for non Apple products. I have a Creative Zen Vision M and it wont accept it. I ... Read review

Panasonic sc pt450 WOW WOW WOW
Review of Panasonic SC PT450 by liamwhitney

Advantages: Superior power (1000watts), stylish, HDMI upscaling, AV inputs
Disadvantages: None

...decided to go for the Panasonic to my delight I rushed home to try it out and I was disapointed with my choice as I had to return it the next day due to it being faulty. I was discouraged from getting the same model, however after speaking to a member of staff in curry's he played all the systems I was interested in and to say the least the Panasonic stood out imensly. The sound quality was by far superior to all the rest in this price bracket even ...
...600 so on power the panasonic by far The very helpful man in currys played a dvd through them all and again the Panasonic stood out for the sharpest picture through the impressive 1080i HDMI upscaling feature, this system also has av inputs so you can watch your Sky/Virgin tv and play the sound in Surround sound even the Sony doesnt do this, the phillips does BUT can you really sacrafice a massive 400watt power loss by not having the panasonic This ... Panasonic SC-PT850 Home Cinema System
Review of Panasonic SC-PT850 by Vicky40

Advantages: Amazing sound experience
Disadvantages: A bit confusing when setting up.

We bought a really good 52\" LCD TV, but the sound was average and so decided to buy this system to improve it. Once installed, the difference is amazing! There are 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, 1 centre speaker and a subwoofer. Each speaker is very stylish and unobtrusive, the centre speaker (mainly for vocal) is small and the subwoofer is small and stylish, which means that this system enhances the furniture in your living room, rather than ...
...(&DVD+RW) playback and CD player. The clarity of sound is not compromised, as it has a digital amplifier and it has HDMI upscaling, which means that ordinary (not HD) DVDs play back in high definition quality, plus the Progressive Scan feature means that DVD playbacks are clearer and sharper. There is a USB connection, so that music stored on a computer can be played through this system. All in all, we have not looked back since we bought this wonderful ... Read review

Give it some serious thought first
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 990 by 1Tank1

Advantages: Nice looking design
Disadvantages: lack of upgrade options, underpowered sub.

...not be compatible with the Panasonic SC-HT990 so you will need to run the sound through your TV which sort of defeats the object of the surround sound. Granted you can play the sound through the Aux attachments on the rear of the player but that does not do much for quality as it splits your stereo channel to produce surround sound. The sub is also a bit underpowered as it has no seperate amplifier and the speakers are 6 Ohm which basically means ...
...and is used at most for a couple of hours a night. Now the warranty is over and Panasonic will want some exhorborant fee just to have a look at it. While it was working it was decent but I would have expected it to last just a bit longer. ... Read review
