Although my new system is Sony I would certainly consider Technics again when choosing another. The Technics SCDV290 is slightly harder to find these days although they can be found both new and second hand on EBay. i have had this Home Cinema DVD player for over a year now and as far as i can tell there have been absolutely no problems with it. excellent all round DVD player, and has USB and DivX support which is brilliant as i watch a lot of films from my memory stick.
