Quality:Price - Too BIG Difference!
Review of Sony DAV-DZ 230 by S4MMY_74

Advantages: Fanatical quality, Superb value
Disadvantages: Not Multi-Region

...purpose of watchingthem on my SONY home cinema system. This product has HD upscaling which means, it will upscale the quality of picture to suit your tv, and goes up to 1080i, works fantastically with HDTV's! I would not fault this product and would recommend this to anyone who loves films. It is also compatible to play what is coming out of the tv, which means sports, entertainment, sky, gaming consoles. Four speakers, a sub and a centre piece is ... Read review

Excellent Quality low price all in one system
Review of Sony DAV-DZ 231 by mike.portsmouth

Advantages: HDMI, easy set up with calibration microphone
Disadvantages: no divx but otherwise perfect

...- designed to complement the sony Bravia TVs (which I have!) The unit was really easy to set up, just follow the on screen wizard, and it comes with a microphone for calibrating the speakers, which was fun. The sound quality is excellent on DVDs, CDs and normal TV, and the picture quality on scart and HDMI is superb, the home theatre sync is a nice touch and complements the smart remote control. It is a shame that the european model does not support ... Read review

Panasonic SC-HT340
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 340 by MattUtd

Advantages: Great Value for a Brand Name
Disadvantages: No infra-red speakers

This is a great entry level home cinema system for less than £150. I bought this about 12 months ago from Richer Sounds during one of their sales. It's very easy to install as all the wires are colour coded so even a novice will understand what to do. The instructions are pretty self-explanatory so within 30 minutes you should have it ready to go. The only down-side with non infra-red systems like this is the fact there's lots of wires. You've basically ...
...to the DVD player. As you can imagine the amount of wire behind your TV will build up. The picture quality is pretty good and the sound is more than enough to fill a standard size living room. Other benefits include the built-in FM/AM radio but it's not DAB. You can also play CDs in this system which makes it a great alternative to your Hi-Fi. The remote control allows you to adjust a range of options including sound and picture quality. For those ... Read review

Good quality system
Review of Samsung HT-THX 25 by MrsNL

Advantages: excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: base of speakers takes up more space than expected

The sound quality through these speakers is excellent and the sub woofer is fantastic. The DVD player can play just about anything but found when I played a CD in it there was no screensaver so you have to make sure you press the button to bring up the CD information or you run the risk of getting screen burn or so my husband says. We use ours with a samsug TV, I don't know if this makes a difference or not but I have fund that the DVD player woks ...
...I think it may have been a little tricky to install but my husband did it and it seemed to take quite a long time. I find the speakers although they are quite sleek looking they still take up quite a lot of unnecessary floor space due to the big bases. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who asked. ...
