The downside is that the bass is too deep and not adjustable, and a very noticable 'static noise' comes in after about half an hour after the system has been switched on. ...this hooked up to my Samsung 556, the DVD player has 1080p upscaling which produces an image to rival that of most blue ray players! It also has samsungs new automatic link up function which means only one controller is needed, when you turn the DVD player on, the tv automatically switches on and goes to the correct channel, although i believe you need a HDMI cable for this, although these arent too expensive if you browse, a £25 one from amazon/play ...
