Advantages: Ok for DVD surround
Disadvantages: No TV surround. No digital optical cable.

Pioneer have really let the side down with this model. It is not capable of converting TV sounds sources to Pro Logic surround sound!! The best you get is stereo from the front two speakers via a RF cable. It doesn't even have a digital optical cable! What a let down! As a DVD player it does what I expect it to but the reason people buy these systems is for full surround, including the ability to convert TV sound to surround. Not worth the money ... Read review

...It's by far my best Samsung purchase to date (or win come to that) and proves that these Cinema Sound systems have come on leaps and bounds since their first appearance in homes in 1994. If you consider yourself a film enthusiast then there can be no other set up for you. ...dvd or jpeg now with samsung you can read divx ,wmp,just plug your i pod in the sistem and see and listen your photo.what about sound quality and video quality ,is really really good with no only the only normal and old prologic but now have prologic 2 with so different mode ,and if you watching for db is in haugh for your living room. ...and links well with a Samsung TV using the 'Anytime system, plus the clean sleek glossy styling is easy on the eye. The downside is that the bass is too deep and not adjustable, and a very noticable 'static noise' comes in after about half an hour after the system has been switched on. ...decided to go for the Panasonic to my delight I rushed home to try it out and I was disapointed with my choice as I had to return it the next day due to it being faulty.
