Panasonic SC-PT460
Review of Panasonic SC-PT460 by acnicolaou20

Advantages: Great Sound and picture quality
Disadvantages: Only Ipod mp3 works (mainly), unclear instruction manual

I wanted an upconverting Panasonic DVD to go with my Panasonic 32lxd700 LCD, as I didn't want to pay the premium for a Blu-ray player that at present don't look, in my opinion, that much better than standard DVD's. I chose this model as it seemed good value with the extra surround-sound and MP3 capabilities. The Good Points; The picture is excellent. The sound is excellent, once you've worked-out the settings. It adds extra bite to the soundtrack ...
...you least suspect it.The remote is small and easy to use. It's great value, with the amount of features available. The Annoying Points;- The instructions are not too clear when setting the sound up i.e a few of the buttons have three different functions. Why not just add seperate buttons? If you don't have an i-pod, your mp3 might not work, even though there is a usb for non Apple products. I have a Creative Zen Vision M and it wont accept it. I ... Read review

Fantastic sounds all around from my surround!
Review of Panasonic SC-PT 150 by andycharger

Advantages: Great sound and price
Disadvantages: Looks a bit dated and remote fiddly

...and feel, the retro feel Panasonic PT-150 is a sure winner with me. Reason for purchase. After setting up my old fireplace as a "hole in the wall" entertainment system, I experienced one major problem with my Sony surround sount system. It stopped working. Reason being that old soot and debris had fallen down the chimney and filtered through the air vents into the workings and shorted it out! Not to be put off my my idea, i fixed the falling soot ...
...Surround sound that fitted with the room and matched the other items. This would need it to be Silver in colour, the same width dimensions as the Sony ( to fit on the mounts) and thin in height (to fit in the narrow clearance). IT would also need the following conenctions so I could connect it directly to me set up. At least 1 Scart for the Sky X box, Phono plugs for connecting the Xbox 360 sound and built in DVD player to prevent buying a new separate ... Read review

pros and cons of the system, overall good buy
Review of Bose 321 GS by benlee1083

Advantages: superb quality of sound and picture
Disadvantages: hidden costs

The basic points of the entertainment system are: Pros: 1 - Unbelievable sound quality 2 - Easy installation, 3 cables, 2 speakers, 1 boxset hence 321 3 - great picture quality 4 - prepares you for the future of digital tv with HD compatibility 5 - stores huge amounts of music on the hard drive installed in the set. Cons : 1 - hidden costs in the hdmi cable and speaker fixings. 2 - unattractive box set. Large and clumsy. 3 - only comes ...
...is a beautiful model and great for home entertainment without bursting your purse strings. Unbelievably easy to install with minimal effort, only things were when I bought it there were the hidden costs of speaker fixings to attach to the wall and the hdmi cable for future purchase of a HDTV but otherwise highly recommend it. ... Philips HTS3154 DVD Home Theatre System
Review of Philips HTS 3154 by Matheusl02

Advantages: USB and DivX playback support
Disadvantages: Doesn't support U3 or very large hard drives

i have had this Home Cinema DVD player for over a year now and as far as i can tell there have been absolutely no problems with it. excellent all round DVD player, and has USB and DivX support which is brilliant as i watch a lot of films from my memory stick. One bad thing about the USB is that it doesn't support very large hard drives and U3 drives - anything which you need specific drivers for. The DVD player also has MP3 line-in which is very ...
...compatible with the USB, so you can just plug it in. One feature i found really good was that it remembers where you were last in your DVD, and that has come in very handy as I am always having to go and do something else. Overall an excellent Home Cinema DVD player, with some features that could be added. ... Read review
