Denon 500SD sets the standard!!

Advantages: sound, picture quality
Disadvantages: bae unit a little large

I've owned the Denon 500SD for the past 3 years now. I've had nothing but pleasure and an awsome sound from the unit since i purchased it. I've even expanded the unit but more on this later! Cosmetics The unit is visually attractive with a pale teak colour to the speakers and sub woofer (a modern look now-a-days). The metallic looking speakers stand out well from other plain black designs. The base unit is a little on the large side ...

Big Sound FromThe Little System

Advantages: Small Unit with all the functions for a basic home theatre system
Disadvantages: No facility for surround speakers, VIRTUAL Dolby Only

...at other items such as Denon DHT500, i chose the DM51 DVS due to its stylish look big sound and versatility in the home theatre set up. If you are happy with Virtual Dolby only then this system is one for you, as it does Virtual like no other!!!! But if you are used to the real thing DTS 5.1 etc etc then you may have to either step up or settle for the DHT500. Perfect for the smaller room.

Advantages: Tiny speakers, compact and good looking.
Disadvantages: Not enough inputs for a living room system.

The Samsung HT-TZ215 is supurb in looks, quality and sound!
