Goodmans 1990 DVDF
Review of Goodmans 1990DVD by
markybaby76
Advantages: Cheap, Built In Freeview, Small, Compact, Pleasing to the eye
Disadvantages: Poor Sound quality, No Dolby Pro Logic, getts hot
I purchased this based on price. Big mistake! While it does have alot of features including Freeview, the sound quality is awful if you connect all the speakers. Basically if you connect the subwoofer it creates a buzzing sound that is very intrusive ant any volume, even if you press mute on the remote the subwoofer buzzes away. The remedy for this I found was to disconnect the subwoofer and change the sound settings to joint stereo, but then you ... ...that it has a place in the home as an economy 5.1 home entertainment system. It has Freeview, CD/DVD with Jpeg and MP3 support, plays DIVX Files, FM/MW radio, optical output and AUX in. But it appears that price matters when you but audio equipment, but on a plus note it plays DIVX and I have only just discovered this so I have rerated the product based on this feature as I see it as a majour plus. ...

Samsung HT-Q20 Home Cinema System
Review of Samsung HT-Q 20 by
danmclovin
Advantages: Excellent quality, great features!
Disadvantages: No speaker stands!
...movie experience. I have the Samsung HT-Q20 home cinema system in my house, and whilst it's certainly not the best system available on the market, I find it does a pretty good job for the price.
The Samsung HT-Q20 is almost a complete home entertainment system, since not only does it offer a dvd player with 5.1 surround sound, but it also has a built in radio tuner, plays audio CD's and has a USB slot for MP3 player compatability. These features ... ...the time. I bought the Samsung HT-Q20 nearly 2 years ago now, for around £160 at the time, which felt like money well spent, and whilst the system has been very good in the main, it's certainly by no means faultless.
The system looks great, as you would expect from a Samsung product, and comes in a sleek, matte black design with a metallic silver lining throughout the range of items. The home cinema system consists of a DVD player, 5 speakers, a ...

Review of Samsung HT-TZ215 by
mistersnowman
Advantages: sleek, small, smart
Disadvantages: none?
...to entertainment! The HT-TZ215 from Samsung has 800 W of power and includes a DVD player compatible with DivX, a passive subwoofer and 5 speakers to blast out the sound. The five speakers even have a column design for optimum sound output.
Its HDMI connection with 1080p upscaling plunge you into the High definition experience, so you'll never watch films in the same way again. Meanwhile, the USB port allows you to hook up other video and storage ... ...Wireless Ready function. With the optional SWA-400 connection kit, only the rear speakers need to be connected, giving you the freedom to place the other speakers where you want for the best quality sound.
Bring the cinema home with the HT-TZ215! But enough technical stuff, its a brilliant system for the family and partys!
recommended buy! ...

Value for money Home Cinema System
Review of LG HT 353SD by
panther23
Advantages: Design, style, quality, options
Disadvantages: can not see any
...and found this one. Saw LG HT353SD in Sainsbury's for just £79.99 and was not sure. I checked all the other prices online and details on manufacturer's website. Same day decided to go for it and bought it next day. I have it over one week now and am totally satisfied. It does exactly everything what should and does it great. This home theatre system is very nice looking and nicely designed. Stylish I would say as each speakers surface reflects. Cables ... ...power of 75W (3 Ohms).
LG HT353SD is compatible with DTS, Dolby Digital, VSM, DTS ES, natural EQ, auto HQ, Dolby Prologic, DSP mode and 2Ch Stereo (By-Pass) sound effects. To adjust each speaker settings you need to go to on screen menu by pressing enter and choosing sound option. In there you can adjust all properties like distance from speaker to source or signal strength (according to your own preferences) plus/minus 6Db. On the same menu you ...

Sony DAV-IS 10
Review of Sony DAV-IS 10 by
bergkamp81
Advantages: quality, crisp sound, great looks, can easily hide away
Disadvantages: power output is quite low, needs more mid range
I bought the sony satelite system about 8 months ago. I did have a sony 5.1 system before but decided to change it as i had just bought a new plasma and wanted a surround system to compliment the looks of the plasma mainly (my tv's piano black as is the dav subwoofer). I knew the quality of the dav-is 10 was there but when i tested it i thought the power output was quite low but at the price it was the best option for the subtle, cosmetically smart ... ...- especially with the skinny sony stands you can buy (70 pounds for the pair - well worth it). The subwoofer is the main output here. The bass and mid all come from this and to be fair it gives out a lot if you take into account that the 5 satelites give pure treble and no bass at all.
To really here the system at full potential you need to put the volume on near enough full sound - but i feel that this doesn't balance out properly. Too much bass ...
