Not up to Samsungs usual standard
Review of Samsung HT-X 200 by dmc22

Advantages: Good styling and easy set up
Disadvantages: Poor value for money and sound not adjustable

...and links well with a Samsung TV using the 'Anytime system, plus the clean sleek glossy styling is easy on the eye. The downside is that the bass is too deep and not adjustable, and a very noticable 'static noise' comes in after about half an hour after the system has been switched on. I have heard since that others have noticed this only through a games console but i have had the same effect through watching satellite and terrestial TV. I queried ... Read review

Good sorround system for cheap proce
Review of Philips HTS 3357 by maximaracer_95

Advantages: Uses pro logic surround, user freindly
Disadvantages: weak sub woofer.

Its perfect for an apartment type housing. Personaly i thnk the sub woofer is a little weak. The DVD player plays just about all the formats such as SVCD, MPEG, AVI and DIVX. One of the cool feature it had is the Ipod dock system. You can listen to your ipod and even watch movies from it, if you have a video Ipod. Just connect the AV connection to the dock and ready to watch. It will work with any type of Ipode or even Zune because it had the adapters ... Read review

Who says you only get what you pay for !
Review of Philips HTS 3154 by yrrab

Advantages: Multi featured CD, DVD, USB, MP3 TV SURROUND SOUND
Disadvantages: Not wireless!

This is an amazing bargain. I was replacing an old hifi but thought I would get a surround sound system. Not only does it play cd's and dvd's but will play from an MP3 player or a memory card (using a reader) via usb or from a headphone socket on an MP3 player. I was diappointed when I tried to play from my laptop via a usb bluetooth dongle , but it came up 'unsupported' Ah well , you can't have everything. It also can give surround sound for whatever ...
...HTS 3100 was recommended in 'Which' magazine and for the features and price I would imagine this one will be. I haven't yet hidden the cables, its my next job! I paid £94 at amazon. I highly recommend this for the cost and features. It sounds pretty good to me. NB: I have found out since I wrote the review that this is recommended by Which online. ... Read review

Goodmans 1990 DVDF
Review of Goodmans 1990DVD by markybaby76

Advantages: Cheap, Built In Freeview, Small, Compact, Pleasing to the eye
Disadvantages: Poor Sound quality, No Dolby Pro Logic, getts hot

I purchased this based on price. Big mistake! While it does have alot of features including Freeview, the sound quality is awful if you connect all the speakers. Basically if you connect the subwoofer it creates a buzzing sound that is very intrusive ant any volume, even if you press mute on the remote the subwoofer buzzes away. The remedy for this I found was to disconnect the subwoofer and change the sound settings to joint stereo, but then you ...
...that it has a place in the home as an economy 5.1 home entertainment system. It has Freeview, CD/DVD with Jpeg and MP3 support, plays DIVX Files, FM/MW radio, optical output and AUX in. But it appears that price matters when you but audio equipment, but on a plus note it plays DIVX and I have only just discovered this so I have rerated the product based on this feature as I see it as a majour plus. ... Mega MOS
Review of Ministry of Sound DV124 by rhyrhy1

Advantages: Great Sound, Great Looks
Disadvantages: Flimsy disc drive, hard to use

Ministry of Sound - DV124 Before I start, I'd just like to say how much trouble I had trying to find a good review of a CD player to see what I should put in mine, but I couldn't so here goes. Contents Choosing the Brand Sound Picture Playback Appearance Features Installation and ease of use Display Opinion Value for Money Comparison to other brands Summary Choosing the Brand I began to look for this in May, and spent a good two months ...
...Sony when a friend mentioned ministry of sound to me. Although they aren't a reputable make, it would mean a good quality for a much lower price. I walked into Macro's and I saw a MOS £99.99 with everything I needed. I hit the internet, and eventually found it at Comet for £89.99, but used the Curry's price promise to get it for £89.95. Sound quality Absolutely incredible, I really can't fault it, apart from the fact it's too loud, but I think ... Read review
