Get a new hobby besides being on the computer
Review of HobbyCraft Store (Shop) by MAllen400

Advantages: this shop caters for most hobbies and tell you how to start
Disadvantages: you could go in for something worth £1 and spend much much more

...I did. HobbyCraft was launched by Warren Haskins, chairman of the well-known Haskins Garden Centre Group. Their shops have 32,000 arts and crafts products so there is bound to be something of interest for you and your family whatever sex or age you are. I went in looking for knitting patterns and came away with candle making kits which when I went into the shop knew nothing about. Around the shop for most of their crafts they have pamplets on the ...
...tips on how to do things. With the help of these pamplets I was able to make the candles perfectly. I know its not rocket science to make candles but following the leaflets I achieved it so it proves how well written they are. The shop itself is well set out with a main aisle down the centre with buckets of special offers and sale items. Everything is well set out and all you need for one hobby is all in one place so if you wanted to knit you would ... Read review

Worst customer service ever
Review of B & Q (Shop) by Highburygal

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: bad service, stupid and rude staff

Simply the worst customer experience I've had in years. Bought a playhouse from their Tottenham Hale store where I was told after handing over my money that the playhouse would be with me in four weeks. Two months later following many, many phone calls to the store I am finally in possession of the playhouse. However to get to this position I had to call up the manufacturer themselves and inform B&Q that the playhouse was in stock, whatever their ...
...stupid member of staff who passed me over to her colleague saying - loudly - 'I can't understand this woman' (what happened to customer?) they arranged delivery without telling me which I found out only by calling them again. Beyond bad. I'm going back to Homebase and will never shop at B&Q ever again. ... Read review

Advantages: none, but i will know better in future
Disadvantages: wasted £1153.00

...fitted bathroom and kitchen from mfi in perth scotland,i would strongly advise people to take there cash elsewhere as we have never received such poor after sales service in our lives,we bought a malton oak kitchen and they sent us cream plinths and then had to wait three weeks till we received the correct ones, the bathroom arrived as planned ,and the problems then began, wedid not receive a template to cut out the sink within the vanity unit, after ...
...stated on the plans that mfi done)when i spoke the store manger (alistair forsyth)he told me "that his fitters butcher the units all the time to fit"i explained that the cost was for a new unit and not for one that had to be butchered to size,as the mfi planner had not taken into consideration of the height of the waste pipes,we now have a higher sink due to the height of the waste pipe that runs along the floor,a bath that was supplied with cheap ... Review of Homebase (Shop) by banksy86

Advantages: there are shops everywhere
Disadvantages: you dont get your products, not as good as other cheaper DIY stores

We ordered a bathroom from Homebase at the beggining of march and they said they would have it too us within two weeks. Then when that came round and we did not have our bathroom we rang them and they said it would be two weeks they were having problems with there distributors. This has happened several times and it is now the end of june and it hasnt even been shipped yet. Needless to say we are really not happy with this because our water has been ... Read review

DFS - Somewhere in the Middle
Review of DFS Furniture Store (Shop) by blondgem

Advantages: friendly staff, decent quality stuff
Disadvantages: No good for First Time Buyers

...be replaced. I've used DFS once, nearly twice and I wouldn't consider them to be a great company, however I would neither consider them a bad company they are somewhere in the middle. The first time I nearly used DFS, I was moving into my first home, I had picked a new three piece suite which I was so excited about, I feel that what sofa's you have in a room can either make the room or break it. We had been given a date to move into our new house ...
...dragging there feet. I contacted DFS to see if they could hold delivery and they advised me no they couldn't and they wouldn't be able to store it for us. We were in a little bit of a predicament and had nowhere else to have it delivered and in that case I had to cancel my new sofa and was somewhat disappointed and I think they should have some kind of system put in place for first time buyers because I know quite a few people that have done the ...
