...of my close friends love Muji too. I would personally say that their strenghts lie in stationery. I have been using their B4 lined recycled paper notebooks for years (B4 notebooks are more practical for a small person like me to carry around than A4 notebooks). Their products are minimalist in design, and I like their storage-related products in clear acrylic. They also sell things like kitcen utensils, beauty products, food, cleaning equipment, ...

Muji products are supposed to be both affordable and of good quality, but when you compare UK prices with Japanese yen prices, you find that the products are sometimes more than double what they cost in Japan. Many of Muji's products aren't even made in Japan (i.e., they aren't actually shipped over from Japan), and I am not sure whether the higher VAT and cost of living in the UK fully explain this price gap. Glyn Webbs is only based in the North East, North West, Yorkshire, East Anglia and the Midlands- they do not have stores in the South West or South East. Shame!
