...and even if the grub screw was long enough, the method of locking the grub screw against the supporting wall bracket was far from robust. These are not exactly taxing home improvement jobs. Heaven forbid purchasing anything more serious! We have reached the point where we will no longer be buying products from Homebase, as we are fed-up having to return the goods. I purchased a sofa in the Gillingham store at the end of July 2008. I chased it up at the beginning of October 2008. I was told it would be in the warehouse on 22/10/08. On this date I telephoned and offered to pay in full and arrange delivery. I was told there was a delay and it would actually be 22/11/08. ...as it took some time with no communication. I had to chase it every step of the way. On 15/11/08 half the sofa turned up with feet and cushions missing and it was all left on my living room floor. It is 21/11/08 and to date no one can tell me when I can expect delivery or anything after I have phoned them every day and they have not phoned me. We go to B&Q at the Forge in Glasgow quite often. Products: good price and variety. But they shouldn't display unclean or broken ones. Staff: always helpful, but they need more training about delivery orders and general phone customer service (useless to ask information by phone: they transfer you to the specific department where no one usually answers).
