A couple of months ago I was building a garden wall for a friend and a couple of doors away a man locked himself out of his house (due to the liquor) and was happy to sit on his door step while somebody rang up the council to get an emergency locksmith.
The locksmith had impressed me by how quick he opened the door and replaced a new fitted lock. Afterwards the locksmith came up to me and explained how he got in so quickly; a three-lever lock has only got 101 combinations (so all you need is 101 keys) and so simple to gain access but a five lever lock is different because to pick this type of lock it would take hours.
I find it very hard to trust a locksmith because if he fitted a lock on your front door how do you know that the key could be passed on to somebody else (I am not one for trusting people), it’s a trade where the locksmith knows that all of his customers would be very wary of him.
