I bought this steamer mop about 6 months ago .
I have mostly hard floors in my house, 1 very large boisterous dog and 2 mucky kids so I hate having to mop the floors.
I thought i would try a simple steam mop, I didn't want anything to flash or a multi talented steam appliance, I just wanted a better faster easier alternative to string mops and soggy floors.
The Hometek mop was a cheaper option than most of the other similar steam products It looked simple and straight forward but to be honest I didn't have a whole lot in faith in it becoming like a best friend.

I recently purchased a Home-Tek steam mop on the advice of a friend, and I have to say that I have not been disapointed with it. It is really quick and easy to use, but I would advise that extra pads are purchased as it is a bit of pain having to keep washing and drying the same one.
As I have young children it was important that the floor was not too wet after, and this mop does not leave too much water behind, and what is left drys very quickly.
I would say that it is not very good on carpets, so if you are getting it for that reason be warned, it probably won't do the job and you may want to look at something better.
It is also quite small so will not take up too much room. ...

the hometek steam mop ht824 light and easy was a good cleaning tool until it went wrong ie the water pipes are that flimsey when they get hot they split leaving enough water in the electrical compartment to actually cause you harm ie electrical shock which could kill whoever uses this mop. please be very aware that when this happens the mop wont work even if you repaire the said split pipes which for the ammount of heat this mop generates is disgraceful.when we purchased this cleaning device it cost 44 pounds 65 pence from trago mills at newton abbot in devon. we wont buy another mop from hometek for obvious reasons .we would be interested in hometeks view and what alterations they deem to make to make this device more safer. ...
