The Carpet Wizard is a cordless, rechargeable carpet sweeper. It is NOT a vacuum cleaner! I make this statement because it is extremely difficult to believe this – and it’s absolutely no use ‘hovering’ over something expecting it to be gone when you move on. You have to SWEEP it up. This is a lot easier than it sounds as this is a motorised carpet sweeper.
It is made by the company Home-tek who specialise in innovative domestic electrical appliances. It is powered by a 7.2v Ni-Cd rechargeable battery and once charged will give a full hour of continuous use before it needs recharging. This should be enough power to clean through the average house.
It has patented “Dual Action Technology”. This means it has two brush heads both motored separately and two anti-spill dust collection cassettes which are easily removed for emptying. It works equally well on carpets or hard floors – tiles, vinyl and wood laminates. It really picks up the smallest pieces – including pet hair and cat litter!
It is very light to use and store weighing only two kilos and, although it is not intended to replace the vacuum cleaner, it makes a very useful secondary cleaner for less heavy work and is most useful for those quick clean-up jobs that we all need occasionally! It is also very helpful for older or handicapped people who may require a less cumbersome cleaner. Probably, for someone living alone, it could be the sole cleaner.
The handle is made with a 360 degree swivel attachment which makes it easy to get into awkward places and as the sweeper head is only about three inches high it will go under a lot of thins that a vacuum cleaner will not. The on/off switch is on the top making it easy to use as a foot switch. The handle is also removable which enables the Wizard to be used as a hand-held cleaner – ideal for the stairs, upholstery or even the car.
The Carpet Wizard comes with a mains adapter, easy to read and understand Instruction Manual and a two year guarantee. I have found that everyone who has seen it wants one of their own and I am certainly pleased to have one myself.
