The design is obviously made to resemble a penguin, with the steam coming out of the beak. This looks kind of cute, but slightly childish, although forgetting the looks, it actually does the business. The machine is basically a kettle, which is electronically controlled.
It can last for twelve minutes (insert sexual inuendo here) and gets up a head of steam in just thirty seconds. It is particularly suitable for use where fabric would be damaged by chemicals, or on items that do not like to be too wet. Basically, you can used it on anything that can stand the steam. It also kills dust mites, and kills off bacteria and mould, so if you use it to clean the grout in your bathroom, it means the mould will take longer to return.
I was a little sceptical at first, but after a good "play" I was reminded of the old Stardrops advert, where it says that Stardrops cleans Millions of things, it cleans everything from potties to Policeman's helmets.
It comes with a range of accessories, like brushes that are good for getting in those awkward places.
The size is very small, about the size of a kettle, and just as simple to operate.
This is a good piece of kit, and is outstanding for small jobs.
Of course it does have limitations, if you need a larger machine, the buy or hire one, but for thise small jobs around the house, it is very good.
Price - just under £30 although I believe the recommended retail price is £40. They are available all over nowadays, and because of the weight, postage is cheap so you can get an on line bargain.
It only weighs less than three pounds, is comfortable to hold, and is easy to keep clean.
One thing I found it was very efficient at, was cleaning barbeques etc
Electric of course, straight from the mains. I wondered if the company was going to recommend a circuit breaker, but after checking, one was not required. The owner's manual was very easy to understand.
