Advantages: Good choice Disadvantages: Slightly dearer
...Where do I absolutely love going any day of the week? Homebase. I always shop till I drop; I am a home improvement addict.
Homebase is sometimes a little pricier than other well-known Home DIY stores, But they seem to have everything there you need, a one stop shop shall I say.
I have wasted more money on petrol, going from shop to shop looking for a bargain in the past that I have now resigned my self to Homebase.
The shop doesn’t remind you of a DIY store, the layout has a more personal touch. It is always fresh, clean and airy in there. It is not just DIY things it sells the finishing touches.
If you are a shopaholic in Homebase it is worth getting one of their cards, then every pound you spend you will get rewarded. Just go to the till to pay your bill they will swipe your card through a machine. That is the way...

Advantages: Good value, makes the job easier Disadvantages: Comes with no clamps to hold wood in place

The Saw and Box comes supplied in a box, most of the pieces are assembled although some assembly is required...

Advantages: use on all materials, good value Disadvantages: none
...I recently bought some paint from Homebase and was suprised by the range and quality of their range.
The product I bought was the all purpose primer. This provides an excellant base for undercoat and then gloss paints on wood - having spent out on new skirting boards thought it best not to skimp on the finishing. The paint was easy to use, requiring little stirring, didn't run and dried fairly quickly.
Being all purpose this can also be used on metal and brickwork to provide a key for undercoat / topcoat. One paint that will work with most surfaces.
The cost was less than the other brands. The 750ml was £6.99 the 2.5l was 10.99. Very good value at 2.5l but the smaller can looked expensive against the Dulux and Crown equivilents....
