There was endless bickering within homebase staff about the layout of my kitchen. They put in all the cupboards that they liked, never once asking my opinion, the homebase planner chose my taps my oven hood and gas, as well as the worktops and the cupboards, and he added in wine racks for good measure. It was a 10% day, it was my first kitchen, and within budget so i wasn't that fussy, he rushed it through and i somehow signed up to a credit card when i wanted to pay cash, very gullible i know!
Then one of the homebase kitchen staff noticed there were items missing from my order, so he order them free of charge, whoopee. However, the a day before the kitchen was due i was told the the washing machine was delayed. Never mind i thought, but then as the kitchen was being fitted there were three cupboards missing. Phoned them up and credit to them they dispatched them in a few days. However two of the three cupboards still didnt arrive. Can't get these now as its been more than 7 days, i have to go back to homebase, and no one there is returning my calls. I argued with the manager about taking back extra items that were in the order but not on the design, he reluctantly took them back, i can be very forthright, no wonder he's not answering my calls!
Overall avoid like the plague, or be fussy beyond reason, get a fitter who is willing to come back a couple of times to fit items as they arrive, unlike mine never heard from him again. I must have aged a couple of years dealing with Homebase, never again.
