Advantages: nice design, easy to move, large grill, very robust and well made Disadvantages: can't vary the height of the grill
...to the wheels and side handles. You can even move it when it's hot if you're careful because the handles don't get hot.
The cooking area is big enough for most needs, but that depends how you organise your BBQ's. If you have it like a dinner party, serving everyone's food all at the same time, then you might struggle. But if you have a proper BBQ, you cook things as and when you can and people help themselves to whatever is cooked, then this grill is just the job. You don't want the grill too big though so you don't waste lots of coals if you only have a BBQ for a few people.
Anyway, back to the BBQ itself, mine lives outside on the patio, uncovered and open to the elements. The paintwork has become a bit dull but there is hardly any rust and it works as well as the day it was new. It doesn't have the option to vary the cooking height...

Advantages: Quick, easy, practical with English weather! Disadvantages: More time to get drunk and forget about the food
...I have cooked on quite a few BBQ's for various functions, parties and family get togethers and have to say that this is without a doubt the best of the lot.
There is one thing about electric BBQ's that you can never have with normal charcoal BBQ's and that is absolute control over the temperature!
People argue that some of the flavour is lost when you use an electrical BBQ, but that is not true in this case, with this BBQ you still get the exact same flavours as you would otherwise.
The difference is though you will not get burnt bits on any of your cooking, because you can turn the heat down when ever you want to, all at the touch of a button.
The only problem with electric BBQ's is the price, they are a lot more expensive than charcoal ones to buy initially, but if you think about it, once you have it you only have to pay...

Advantages: No mess, no more lighter fluid, easy to use Disadvantages: a bit dearer than normal charcoal but well worth it.
...I tried a gas bbq for a couple of years on the advice of a few people I know saying that they didn't taste any different than a proper bbq, and I suppose they don't really taste that different and they are certainly much easier and cleaner to set up and use. However about a year ago we decided to knock the kitchen and dining room together and this resulted in a huge pile of bricks. I had always fancied a brick bbq and decided to set about building one with the bricks that I had, this obviously then resulted in the gas bbq getting tipped and we were back to the mess of charcoal and fire lighters again - untill I discovered Homebase instant lighting charcoal.
Getting Dirty
I suppose the main problem with a traditional bbq is the fact that when you come to set it up ready to light, you have to start stacking charcoal up...
