a dehumidifier dehumidifies
Review of Ebac 2600e Dehumidifier by  iv3_b33n_r0bb3d

Advantages: dehumidifies
Disadvantages: it is hard to spell 'dehumidifies'

...I am refering to the 2650e model in the 2600 series What is a dehumidifier? A dehumidifier does what it is called, it dehumidifies. It is opposite from a humidifier (a more type friendly word), a humidifier puts moisture back into the atmosphere whereas a dehumidifier takes moisture away from the air. I would not think using a humidifier and dehumidifier together would be a good idea (you won’t make a difference apart from raising electricity costs). What are the benefits of a dehumidifier? It can take care of damp and mould matters. Removes moisture from the air that can cause health problems such as arthritis and rheumatism. Where does moisture in the air come from? Washing dishes The washing being hung up Showering Outdoor moisture What benefits does the ebac dehumidifier offer? Reduce pollen in atmosphere, helps... Read review

A good dehumidifier to use in a wet area
Review of Secco SuperThermo Wall Mount Dehumidifier by  shricthism

Advantages: Easy to use, well made, has heating option, can be used it wet environment
Disadvantages: Maybe a little expensive

...( to a selected percentage dehumidity) 2) As above (1) with heating 3) Clothes dry ( ie full power dehumidifiy) 4) As above (3) with heating 5) Heating only - to a set temperature There is also a button to display the current temperature and humidity. The tank holds 3.5 litres of water and has a switch to turn off the machine when it is full. Alternatively you can connect an external drain. It is said to be capable of extracting 14 litres per day although we usually get around 2 litres per day, I guess it depends how damp your room is. We haven't used it for clothes drying yet but this is said to be a cheaper way of drying clothes than a tumble drier, seems to make sense. The heater has a power rating of 1KW. This makes it ideal to use in an unheated building like a cabin. The Zone 3 rating is unusual in dehumidifiers and means you... Read review

Amcor DC800 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier
Review of Amcor DC800 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier by  nykmedia

Advantages: Portable, dries laundry, filters air, multiple settings, cheap to run.
Disadvantages: Slightly awkward for emptying if you have long nails :)

...We had a serious problem with dampness and an equally serious problem with the cost of electricity and the continual wet weather. With no radiators to help dry clothes, the tumble dryer was eating into the household budget. That's when I found out about dehumidifiers and how economical these can be, plus, they can be beneficial to your health. After much research, I settled for the Amcor DC800 Dehumidifier & Air Purifier in one. I got mine for less than £80 including P&P and it has been the best purchase I've made in 2008! Mine uses about 1 unit of electricity per day and I'm amazed at how quickly it got rid of the musty, damp smell in the house, plus it's great for sitting under the 'pulley' or next to the clothes airer. The air that comes out of it isn't warm but it's circulating purified air whilst drying the washing... Read review
