...is it? Well, it’s called Homebase ‘Quick drying satinwood’ and I bought it in a shade called ‘Lapis Blue’, which is a rich Mediterranean blue. At the time I thought it was an outside paint, but reading it closely today I have realised that it’s for interior wood and metal, but it’s lasted very well outside so far so I think it deserves a round of applause!

Advantages: GOOD COVERAGE AND AN EXCELLANT VARIETY OF FINISHES AND SHADES Disadvantages: SKINS OVER AND GETS LUMPY IF YOU LEAVE IT FOR A SHORT PERIOD
...on the walls. Homebase paints are actually produced by Crown paints, and so are of the same quality. I have never used any of Crown paints, always being deterred by the price thus opting for a stores own brand. The matt vinyl emulsion costs £9.99 for 2.5 litres and £18.99 for a 5 litre tin, competitive pricing for own brand paints, B&Q are slightly cheaper at £7.98 for 2.5 litres but they do not offer the variety of colours. Homebases own brand paints ... ...things, even the ‘white’ colours!! Homebase as with some other DIY stores are now providing their paints in clear plastic containers, so you can exactly what colour the paint is, although this does not really give that good an indication what it will be like on a wall/ceiling, it is better than relying on those little cards. In this instance I opted for ‘watermelon’ a kind of well water melon colour (not the skin but the flesh). ...

Advantages: Goes on well, great coverage, cheap Disadvantages: Smell is strong, can be messy
...enthusiasm I trotted down to Homebase to get supplies.
This op is actually about Homebase One Coat Gloss Paint and not the store in general but since I have waited a few weeks for some additions to Ciao I decided to stick it here in the hope no one will mind too much :)
Now, down to business... I haven't used gloss paint on any other woodwork in the house so this was a learning curve for me. I diligently read the backs of lots of tins in the shop ... ...I think that was because it was already painted in gloss and the new gloss paint didnt stick so well!
Overall I'm pleased with the result, this cheaper own brand paint does the job well.

...a home improvement addict.
Homebase is sometimes a little pricier than other well-known Home DIY stores, But they seem to have everything there you need, a one stop shop shall I say.
I have wasted more money on petrol, going from shop to shop looking for a bargain in the past that I have now resigned my self to Homebase.
The shop doesn’t remind you of a DIY store, the layout has a more personal touch. It is always fresh, clean and airy in there. ... ...you are a shopaholic in Homebase it is worth getting one of their cards, then every pound you spend you will get rewarded. Just go to the till to pay your bill they will swipe your card through a machine. That is the way to earn points and points build up into pounds.
Every year I get a gift voucher to the value of my points.
When you pay your bill Homebase accepts cash cheques major credit and debit cards Visa, MasterCard, Switch and American ...

...I decided to go to Homebase (I had not tried there as I believe it to be a little on the expensive side!). However i nearly jumped for joy when I saw this little baby in the aisle. Not only was it the right shade of real red, but it was also in their kitchen/ bathroom range. EXCELLENT!!
Anyway more about the paint is needed. I purchased a 2.5ltr tin for 13.49 (half the price of the dulux alternative that I would have had) The container is clear, ... ...the inside, however I would go with the colour cards, as it is more realistic of the final finish. The container certainly looks the business and easily stacks up to its competitors on its stop and buy me appeal. As the name suggests the paint is ideally situaited for kitchens and bathrooms. The blurb for the product states that it is a specially formulated washable emullsion that is moisture, stain and grease resisting
COVERAGE - Excellent, we ...

Advantages: use on all materials, good value Disadvantages: none
...I recently bought some paint from Homebase and was suprised by the range and quality of their range.
The product I bought was the all purpose primer. This provides an excellant base for undercoat and then gloss paints on wood - having spent out on new skirting boards thought it best not to skimp on the finishing. The paint was easy to use, requiring little stirring, didn't run and dried fairly quickly.
Being all purpose this can also be used on metal and brickwork to provide a key for undercoat / topcoat. One paint that will work with most surfaces.
The cost was less than the other brands. The 750ml was £6.99 the 2.5l was 10.99. Very good value at 2.5l but the smaller can looked expensive against the Dulux and Crown equivilents....

Advantages: Simple to apply. Disadvantages: compared to traditional gloss paint, fails.
...I want to tell readers about a paint supplied by Homebase because I feel strongly about their description of the paint as a "one coat gloss". The name implies that a person would only need to apply one coat of paint altogether, and what is very misleading is that what they mean is that you only need to apply one coat of gloss, although of course, you need to prime, undercoat and maybe even add knotting compound to areas of wood where knots are leaking.
THE POT ITSELF
A standard litre pot is available at approx. £11.99. I say approximately as it was bought for me in the U.K. It's a buck standard pot, with instructions on the outside that tell you how to wash your brushes (i.e. with white spirit) and give you generalised instructions. Opening the can is every bit as simple as other makes, although here, the similarities with other...

Advantages: Homebase paint or is it crown Disadvantages: none
...Who makes that paint?
Cant think of what paint to buy or that paint is too far expensive so what do I do? When I was painting my house I searched for paint and always come across the two main manufactures are Crown and Dulux, which are the two most expensive.
There are several types of paint manufactures that supply company’s own brand of paint such as Homebase, B&Q, and Wicks etc. not many people would compare Crown paints with homebasepaint but why? Somebody has to make the paint for Homebase but who believe it or not it’s CROWN and far cheaper.
You would actually think in store paints are not good quality paints but you wouldn’t think that it has been made by a top manufacture.
is it Homebasepaint or is it crown...

I've been using Paint Shop Pro since around 1998/9, when PSP5 was out. Since then, it's been through many different upgrades, and I've learnt much about photo and image editing along the way.
Until version 10, or Paint Shop Pro X to give it its proper more
