The rollercoaster life for Britain's Hottest Star
Review of Billie Piper - Chris Stevens by  Jonni_boi

Advantages: brilliant and you can't get enough of it
Disadvantages: it screams out your name and you have to read on

...in and you haven't even read 3 words. Then you come across the bottom bit which says "The Rollercoaster Life Of Britain's Hottest Star" Now if you can read that up in the picture above, I'll be amazed as the size inside is about half of that size and that should give you some idea of how much information can be picked up in one complete page. What really shocked me as I went to open the first few pages was that it says this: "This Book has not been approved, licensed or endorsed by Billie Piper" Now that had shocked me as she could have sued Chris Stevens on stuff she might not have wanted everyone to have known about. If anyone can explain to me how an author can do that please tell me. Chris Stevens is a brilliant author, OK maybe I can't really say such a thing as I have not read any of his other books, that's if he has written any... Read review

Chris Moyles - Radio links written down
Review of The Gospel According to Chris Moyles: The Story of a Man and His Mouth - Chris Moyles by  kirkytracy

Advantages: Easy - good holiday read, need another book though!
Disadvantages: Too quick, finished before you know it

...of the pages. The book actually gets underway at Chapter 2 - titled 'How it all began'. The book is then split into chapters which each relate either to a stage in his radio career or about his radio team or are some kind of celebrity story. The career history does run in a sort of order, but with chapters about other stuff in between. If you do listen to Chris on the radio, then you will know that he (like other DJs) titles the talking between the records as 'links' . I would describe this book as a series of these radio links that he has simply written down. At the end of the book there is a list of everyone that Chris knows. This is so he can say he mentioned them in his book if they ask! There is not a lot of background information about Chris's life before he started in Radio. He touches on this near the start of the book saying... Read review

The Criminal Underworld in Britain Exposed...
Review of Gangland Britain - Tony Thompson by  CaptainDisaster

Advantages: Utterly compelling
Disadvantages: Disturbing because it's true

...of the book but it's nice to have them just the same. The book is completed by a bibliography and a fairly extensive index. Overall this book is a masterpiece in its own right, and the factual accounts of criminals who are probably / possibly still at large makes for more compelling reading than any fictional crime story. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is even in the least bit interested in true life crime, and even if you're not (in all honestly I don't have a particular interest in it and just picked this book up for something different), you'll find it intriguing.
