I (like so many others), suffered from morning sickness for nearly the duration of my pregnancy. I had serious back problems, the health of my skin and teeth deteriorated, and other complications that took me out of work at the fifth month stage. I received a little guidance from my doctor, but at times like this you believe you should be curing the problem naturally so as not to detract from the health of the baby you are carrying. So, I turned to homeopathy and herbal remedies.
I'm not going to sing the praises of homeopathy, but I would like to write about some of the general information that helped me trough my pregnancy - If you would like to know more, I suggest you contact a sound homeopath (do your research well), who will insist on a personal consultation.
*Vitamin and mineral supplements
1 - 3 months (daily): Folic acid 400mcg, B50 complex, vitamin C 500 mg with biovlavanoids 4 - 5 months (daily): Vitamin C 500 mg with biovlavanoids, multi vitamin/mineral capsules (yeast, salt and sugar free if need be - see my opinion on psoriasis), vitamin E 200 IU, molasses capsule. 6 month (daily): Vitamin C 500 mg with biovlavanoids, B50 complex, vitamin E 300 IU, molasses capsules, multi-chelated mineral tablet. 7 - 9 months (daily): As in months 4 - 5.
*Morning sickness
Nux Vomica D4(this is the one I found most helpful). Pulsatilla 30C Nat. mur 6C Ipecacuanha D3 Tabacun D4 Rasberry-leaf tea Spearmint tea Peppermint tea (digestive problems) Papaya tablets (digestive problems) Charcoal tablets (digestive problems) Vertigo heel (for accompanying dizziness)
Bryonia 6C for intense discomfort Conium 6C for mild discomfort Golden seal (sore nipples) PauPau extract or ointment (sore nipples) St Johns wort oil (cracked nipples) Seven herb cream (cracked nipples)
*Stretch marks
Calendula or calendula ointment Cellu ver cream Sans soucis rejuvenating cream Arnica 30 (relief of soreness, stretching tissues and tiredness)
*Immune system (minor colds etc.)
Ignatia 30C Echinaforce (can help combat mastitis) Megazyme (can help combat mastitis)
*Inflammation of the veins
St Johns wort Hyperisan Urticalcin
*General
Rubella 30C (in case you come into contact with the disease - always talk to your doctor before taking) Diabetes complex (for those suffering from diabetes) Urticalcin (calcium deficiency) Aesulus hipp. (horse chestnut extract) before the baby is due to ease the delivery. Calendula mother tincture (12 drops in warm, sterile water for swabbing the perineal area)
I hope this will be helpful for those of you who wish to supplement your pregnancy with natural medicine, and I STRESS that if you do, talk to your doctor and midwives first, and then contact a reputed homeopath, who will be able to diagnose specific remedies to your needs.
