I recently bought a Honda accord type S after lots of looking on the internet and at garages for a new car. And im glad i did. I wont go into the technical stuff here, get your self a brouchure from a garage for the facts and figures, but i will tell you about my experince.

I have had feedback on this Op surgesting that I do put in the tech stuff. And of course, I am always happy to comply !!!!
2.4 litre, 4 cylinder in-line all aluminium DOHC i-VTEC engine (that means, Duel Over Head Cam and Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control, apparently). Producing 190 bhp with a top (limited) speed of 142mph. 0-60 comes arround in 7.9 secs, but as I have said, the time is less than this for sure (one day i will check it out with a stop watch). The gear box is 6 speed, so get used to changing gear! Feul wise I think they said about 30 mpg combined, well that maybe true if you drive arround in 6th gear all day (economical with 80mph at 3,000 rpm!!) but the reason you buy a big engined car is to drive it! so i think i get more like 20 mpg or less!!!! but i dont like to think about it too much!!, there is a choice of 16 or 17 inch alloys, the latter being an optional extra, but look better and give a little bit more in handling. The car comes fitted with Michelin pilot sport low profile tyres, very nice looking set up on the alloys!

Firstly, the people at the honda garage were a cut above the rest, there was none of the hard sell i have come to expect from car sales people i was given time and privecy to talk to my partner about the new car, and above all we were treated like humun beings, not a potential sale.
As far as the car is concerned, its simply fantastic. i was convinced from the moment i got in it that it was well made, well thought out and top quality. i have been in many cars lately in my search, and this was the very best in its price range, £20,000.
There is tons of space in the front and, unsually, the back. the boot is like a cave and im convinced you could get lost in there!.
Inside the layout is very good and doesnt feel at all cheap.
Performance wise it is increadible, much faster than any other car i tried. 0-60 takes 7.9 seconds, but in theory, im sure its faster. this is not where this car is fast though, try driving it in the mid gears, 3rd 4th, and keep the revs above 3,000 and you will be blown away by the performance. The rev limiter will cut in at about 7,500 rpm, but the power up to this point is simply increadible, 3rd will take you from 30 up to 90 in an amazing time, it takes some getting used to though, and you need to take a brave pill before putting round a nice twisty country road at these speeds.
But dont be frightend, the car hangs onto the road extremly well, and i am yet to feel the car start to wander away from me, and i have driven it through the highlands at some very high speeds.
On the other hand, drive it normally and you will be taken to your destination in complete luxury, and after a 5 hour drive you will arrive untired and unstressed.
All in all, the honda accord type S looks good, drives good and goes good. i highly recommend it as a new car. you wont be dissapointed.
