Honda Accord Type-S 2004 2.4
Advantages: fast, handling, excellent transmission Disadvantages: bigger brakes, no trip computer
...review! The New shape 2004 Honda Accord Type-S!
I have driven the car for 31K miles now all in a year and a half, so i think i've expereiced things that people would normally experience in 3 years or more lol! I bought the car in late 2004 for a very good price (please see my further advice below). Here I'll review the ownership of the vehicle, as well as discuss possible problems, including those I've experienced! I've done some modifications to ... ...would have been better if Honda used slightly bigger brakes.
THE POWER
This is where the new IVtec engine differs from the Vtec of old. The power is given as 190BHP and 165lbs/ft granted the torque isn't as high as it should be, but that can be equalised by the engines willingness to rev all the way to that 7500rpm redline!
The power is delivered to the wheels through one of the best 6speed manuals there are now...silky smooth and the ...

A great family friend....
Advantages: Smart, Large, comfortable, affordable. Disadvantages: Parts can be expensive, rear brakes can play up.
...is a 1997 R reg Honda Accord 1.8i LS Saloon in bright red. Purchased last year by my father for £1200. It has has 3 owners from new (inc. my Dad) and has 110K miles on the clock. Very good condition, few scratches around the door locks. And a few bumps now due to my dad hitting a few pillars and high kerbs. Haha. This model Accord is the one that is based on the Rover 600.
*+*+*THE ENGINE*+*+*
She's got the 1.8i unit. Same it's not the VTec because ... ...she develops between 120-130bhp. And she can get up and go real quick if you are lead footed. *+*+*FEATURES*+*+*
As mentioned she is an LS model. I'm not quite sure where that stands on the trim level scale, but she has Electric windows all round, Electric tilt/slide sunroof, metallic paint, radio casette, electric aerial and an in car boot release, and front driver and passenger airbags. But strangely comes with manual wing mirrors. Higher end ...

Money burnt quickly.....
Advantages: Good family car, plenty of room compared to most cars nowadays Disadvantages: Expensive to run (petrol), Handling is dreadful after 40mph, not really modernised
This is a dreadful car if you are like me and don't have all the money in the world. It can be OK as a slow moving family car but when it comes down to using it on motorways or dual carriage ways the handling is terrible. When you begin to hit over 40mph the handling can become difficult, I had nearly crashed when swerving out of the way of a car coming onto the main road and I had lost control, I have driven other cars before which are great for ... ...into a lane you have to carry on swerving until you eventually gain control again. The main problem I have with this car is the fuel consumption, it is absolutely terrible! I would put in £10 worth of petrol and it would be drained within an hour of easy driving, however when I have put in £10 in many other cars, its last all day even when ragging the cars senseless. Don't get me wrong, this can be terrible for certain drivers when it comes down ...

The best car I've owned yet!
Advantages: Comfort, power, roominess, quality and a rare image. Disadvantages: V6 fuel consumption and insurance (variable).
...it may be, but standard Honda parts are easily available and Honda service is superb.
The car is very comfortable and quiet. It is a joy to drive, the V6 version giving some rewarding power and an enjoyable driving experience. Equipment level is high, making long journies effortless and even refreshing. There is plenty of room, even for rear-seat passengers. Luggage space is also extremely good.
As a second-hang buy, this car is extremely good ...

Advantages: comfy and warm Disadvantages: do not know of any
...that.
So much for the Honda reliability, but acept these things happen.
This car is 02 reg, 45800 miles, so not used and abused, I think, who knows . my only complaint is MPG, very poor, only do urban, 2.5 mls to work, and back, be real, what can you expect, so no comment really, not Hondas fault. The car is comfy, warm, air con is good, but miss the heated screen my Ford had, if only, should be compulsary in all cars.
Boot space is good, better ... ...sorry been there done it, no way, chalk and cheese, Honda is better, class compared to Ford, full of quality is the Honda, Ford is mass produced rubbish, even the Ghia X, cheap and nasty plastic throughout, and all black, shows the wear, my advice, do not get a Ford. ...
