Just to clear a few things up from previous review.
MK II Honda CRX is NOT a boy racer car at all. The majority of UK owned MK II's are owned by enthusiasts from the owners club and are taken complete care of regardless of cost . I spent £500 on mine just last month, no not on neon lights and a body kit. New clutch, new discs and calipers, new exhaust (Standard), CV boots and Tax. I fitted all the parts myself as Honda's labour charges are ridiculous and I don't trust anybody else
It's an excellent car though. Once you drive one you will never feel 100% driving any other car there's no experience like it. It feels like you are sat on the floor , everything is angled towards the driver. Being the first honda with independant dual wishbone point to point suspension it handles like a go-kart and was the inspiration for the entire Honda Type R series of cars.
The majority of the UK models are starting to rust away but a tidy example can be found if your willing to pay a little more. (I payed £2.5k for mine and its pretty much rust free).
Some of the cars have been ..Brutalised with body kits. horrible custom paint jobs, wheels bigger than 15" and HUGE exhaust exit pipes. I would avoid a heavily modified CRX money spent on mods is money not spent on maintenance. In total I have spent quite a bit on mine and have only made one modification which was bigger brakes - the rest of the money was spent maintaining and caring for the car as apposed to making it look like somthing out of The Fast and The Furious.
I would say if you want one , buy one - even if it's a £300 rust bucket without VTEC thats needs some TLC. You will have a friend for life.
But please please please for your own sake don't buy a MK III (Del sol) . They are way heavier and only have a minimal increase in power. You will be devistated if your on the road and you see a nice MK II come cruising past you :P. Del Sol's are Fitted with too many creature comforts that take the "raw" feel of this little Honda away. Plus everyone knows the Del Sol is a girls car. So if your a girl and want somthing abit nippy buy a Del Sol. If your a man (or a girl) who wants a Fast, Fun and Good Looking car. By a MK II VTEC - unless your in America then you don't get VTEC but you will have to make do with the D series engine ;)
