SlapHappy1, you are speaking complete and utter crap, the honda vtec engine is one of the best 4 cylinder engines in the world, it's performance granted that it is not fitted with a turbo is pretty much as good as a vauxhall vxr, add an atom supercharger and it's up there with the evo. You obviously bought a car that was not looked after correctly but you buy at your own risk and if the car was accident damaged you never give it the proper once over. It really amazes me that you never check the oil in a car. I do a weekly maintenance check which takes approximately 10 minutes, tyre pressures, oil check, water check, windscreen wash and seldom do I ever go below the minimum oil level on the dip stick. You would need to do the same checks with you vxr.
