With the news that my wife was expecting our 3rd child we had no option but to upgrade from our Honda Civic VTi-S to a larger more practical model.

There were plenty of options for larger families, but we had no real desire to move to the family minibus. We considered a number of models, but after a visit to the local Honda dealer the wife took an instant shine to the FR-V. We took a test drive and I was pleasantly surprised at how the car handled and was good to drive. We considered what was available in terms of engine, specification, etc. and left to consider our options. As a point of note, the Honda finance packages were very competitive and well worth considering. In the end we plumped for the 1.8 petrol ES version, purchased through a dealer on the internet and got an outstanding price.

After 6 months of ownership I have to say the vehicle has been outstanding. The kids love it and there's loads of space for adults as well. It's more than a people carrier as well, with ample space in the boot to accommodate a pram and more besides. The drive is good, handling is still good and as ever the build quality from Honda is very good. Lots of gadgets as well and the leather interior was a good decision given 3 kids and the ability to wipe clean!

I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone who doesn't want a larger people carrier, but need to accommodate more the 2 or 3 passengers. And as ever, now we've bought one, you notice them all over the place so growing in popularity. Well done Honda, a real success.
