Ive how owned a baby blue Honda Legend for two months. Its the six cylinder 2.7 litres 2 door coupe auto version in metallic blue on a 1988 E plate.I bought it for £550 quid, up to now what a bargain. Its got leather electric seats, power steering, electric sunroof , electric windows and mirrors and central locking.Best of all its got cruise control and aircon....but heres the down side. The aircon was disconnected by a previous owner due to the low miles ber gallon.Even with it off I only average 9mpg round the doors and up to 23mpg on a run.It automatically indicators when you pass a petrol station(only joking)Insurance is a group 16,but is not expensive thanks to privilege insurance.
Even for the cars age it shows little rust.Only bits are round the bottom of the rear aches, so rust proofing is good. All the toys still work, but that was thankfully due to a full Honda service history. It runs very smooth , no bangs or anything.Since this car was £26,500 new, I consider it to be a bargain even with the 156,000 miles on the clock.Someone had cared for this car as it use to have a private plate VCS 3 which i believe is worth about 10 grand, sadly it was remove a year before I bought it.If this car had been one of its rivals a Mercedes,Jag or BMW5 series i would have paid a near to £3000 for an example like mine.
With regards to maintance and spare parts, most parts from a Rover 827 sterling fit around on the running gear and engines,(rovers rust away so plenty in scrap yards at cheap prices). This car is very reliable, just shame about my petrol bill.....at least my argos card is always full!!!!
