Advantages: easy to ride, can find them cheap Disadvantages: two-stroke so not much guts on hills
...I used to have a Honda NS125R and I love it. I didn't think I would be able to find a decent one for a sensible price though and had almost ruled it out.
About a week later my boyfriend came round and said that a friend of his had an NS125 in the back of his shop - it was in bits but did I want to have a look? I didn't hold out much hope, but decided to give it a once over.
I went round that day, and after a quick glance I nearly walked away. It ... ...I had previously.
It had no panels on it and looked terrible. After rooting around I found most of the panels and had a better look at the bike. The engine was in-situ and all the running gear seemed to be there. I talked to the owner and found that he had bought it for his son, who was going to rebuild it. He had taken the panels off, started to rub them down and got bored. That had been over a year ago, since then it hadn't moved.
He wanted £150 ...

Advantages: Learner legal, holds its value, handling Disadvantages: hard to start, old now, back tyre life
I had one of these for a few months after turning 17, and after a year on a moped it felt really big and fast.
In reality I never got more than about 75 out of it under its own power, although it once did 90 down a big hill.
It was a fair bike for what it was. It had 18000 miles on the clock and I don't think it had ever had a rebuild, so was quite hard to start towards the end and performance was heading south. It had an appetite for spark plugs, ... ...think this was because the only ones I ever had on it were pirelli MT65s, and they aren't much good.
I whizzed around on it for 4000 miles with no real trouble, just a couple of puntures. It never broke down on me, and it was a kick start model as they all are so the was no electric start to flatten the battery.
The handling was sufficient, felt great then but looking back it used to go over white markings horrible and tracked around imperfections ...

Advantages: sports bike, it's a Honda, many more.. Disadvantages: it's a two stroke, but it's still great!
After reading THUNDERSMURF's review, i had to write up on how good mine is, i bought it in Oct 2006, for £550, went on a 600 mile round trip for it, brought it from Bognor regis to north yorkshire, and it is great, although a G reg, was in mint condition, one off Marlboro custom paint job, had 70 out of it, that's just getting into fifth!
I have had a modest roughly 125miles to a tank, they are soo easy to get spares for, it is reliable, and what's ... ...when(or at least IF) i come to sell, it as this is my 3rd bike in 2 years of riding, my 1st was also a honda.
I've got to say, i love this extremely awesome machine!!
there's not much more i can say without saying what Thundersmurf said, they are truly an awesome 125, and recommend them without a doubt or any hesitation. ...
